November Plan

Morning. This will probably be more an update about how things are going then a detailed plan on what I'm doing this month. Settle in, it's a long post.

1) I'll be using a numbered list this time instead of starting paragraphs with "First" or "Secondly".

Secondly, I held a poll in October with the $5 and $10 tier concerning features that will appear in the game. I've had a few things I've talked about in comments, had posted in the about me section, or just stuff that people asked about that needed addressing.

Essentially, it was time to settle on some stuff so we can focus on the future and completion of the game. The features that won were: Extra side girl stories after the main game, additional CG artwork for the main game and updated chapter splash screens with chibi art in them.

With the side girl stories win, the idea of having a female playable character has been scraped as we will simply not have the time and resources for both. It was always going to be a one or the other, I'm afraid.

I'm going through the previous chapters and finding out spots that could use some additional artwork. I'll list them all and give it to Rrue and he'll start them after Chapter 12's art is done.

The chapter splash screen is coming along nicely. M (the UI artist) returns to do the base for it and I'm working on finding a chibi artist. The estimate time when it will be finished is questionable as it looks like a lot of artist are closing down to take the rest of the year off. It is that time of year after all.

In the meantime, I had updated the old "Start Multitasking" slides from earlier in the game. Just recoloured them and made it so the textbox disappears when they appear on screen so it doesn't do that weird cut off thing. Long overdue I know but the game isn't finished yet so there was lots of time to work on it.

3) I said last month that I started working as an editor on a third project. Shortly after that, I took over as the programmer for the second project I'm working on, Messy Academy. The project lead, Bridget (she's lurking around here somewhere haha), wanted to transfer the project over to Renpy and I was happy to take up the position. We've worked together on MA for over a year now and I'm really looking forward to helping out more.

4) I finished writing Chapter 9 much earlier than I was expecting but I'm glad I did. I want to get Chapter 10 written before I release Chapter 9 just in case any changes need to be made. We're entering the third act and Margo and I are really keeping an eye on things to make sure they are perfect.

There's no new art needed for Chapter 9, just me stressing over the little details so I appreciate your patience as I will continue the usual monthly despite the chapter being considered technically "done".
