September's Plan

What better time to discuss what I'm doing this month than almost halfway through it haha

It's been a busy month so far as everyone has already seen. I'm trying to engage more with you guys and just generally plan for the second half of the game.

The start of the month saw me releasing Ch6 a little earlier than usual as well as finishing the writing for Ch7. Ch7 was edited and now I've finished putting it all into the engine. It still needs the new artwork and polish but I got all the base work done.

There'll be 3 new costumes that appear in this chapter and people that had seen the new background preview can guess what those costumes will be. Once I get them, I can begin bug testing and getting the game near complete. It'll then just be waiting for CG work.

Another thing I want to do with art is plan out and finish all the backgrounds the game will need. I've already given tanuma-san the info for Ch8's backgrounds and after that will be planning for Ch11 and 12. If I can finish planning and paying for backgrounds, I can start looking for a musician so I can get started on the game's ost.

In the meantime, while I'm waiting for art, I'll be working on Ch8. I have notes and ideas scattered everywhere and I'll probably start soon. I'm trying to stay one chapter ahead of the releases just to make sure everything is still according to plan. Plus, who knows when I'll end up going back to work so having a buffer is handy.

I'm planning out how I want to do the new retrospective series too. The first one for The Rest of Our Lives will probably be a 3 parter so these posts don't get too long. It'll be broken down into "During development", "After development" and "What could have been". I'm excited to get started on that.

Other than that, it will just be more trial and error in the discord server. I'm trying to talk about Date-A-Live while I watch it but it feels a little awkward to me as I'm not sure if I should spoil stuff by talking about it more or just talk about some impressions without spoiling stuff. It leaves everything weirdly vague right now and I'll iron out the kinks as I figure out what I want to do with that. Any feedback on that would be appreciative.
