I never saw Gawker but I get that it was a trashy National Enquirer type site. But the old saying “first they came for Gawker…”seems like it might apply here.

In it, they hit on anti-western thought in the humanities, the problem with affirmative action, and other themes about the rot of elite institutions.

Constantly name dropping to get across that he's well read but doesn't actually finish any arguments so its just showing off. Also it's clear that his idea of what universities are is heavily influenced by Eric Weinstein.

(IMO, heroism in science is overrated - indeed, a bad way of thinking about science) 2. The reference to string theory (most working physicists I know now aren’t impressed by string theory - although might be accidental I know all the string deniers…) 3. The stats flying around - eg, as much PhDs as 1900, and each PhD is 99% less productive…so confused about so many claims in that sentence…
