2024-08-12 01:46:12 +0000 UTCJust watched the "War Room" interview. Firstly, why the hell is he going on Steve Bannon's show? Big red flag. "Lindell TV" sign revolving in the corner throughout... But in terms of what he actually talks about, it's fairly straightforward and not terribly conspiratorial. Obviously he covers US foreign policy which involves a certain amount of genuine conspiracy. He talks about a culture and mindset that makes people guarded they are when talking to journalists, which seems perfectly reasonable. The one moment that made me pause was when he referred to the Matrix as an analogy. I'm thinking he must know that the alt-right use that term to describe "deep state" misinformation, right? Is he paving a way into the alt-right conspiracy news circuit? I don't know, but it doesn't look good. My initial response to you flagging him leaving the Intercept was "Let's give him the benefit of the doubt." But now my trust in him is hanging by a thread. I just can't think of a good justification to go on that show.
