General Update

Hi everyone,

Wanted to give you all a general update on release schedule and upcoming episode plans.

Also, just a personal note that following the familial covid outbreak, I (Chris) am dealing with some other health issues with family members and it's likely to make my time a bit more constrained. We will still be on the fortnightly releases but bonus stuff might be on a weird boom and bust cycle for a while. In any case, appreciate your patience and support.

With that out of the way, we have the following coming up:

1. Today- An interview with the evolutionary anthropologist Manvir Singh. Very fascinating guy, his work is diverse but includes focus on shamans, we will be talking about overlaps with guru figures. Will be posted up raw video and audio later.

2. Tomorrow/the weekend- The Konstantin interview episode with rather extended intro segment covering: a) the Alex Jones 2nd trial result, b) heterodox Putin apologists, c) conspiracy spirals.

3. Next week: Robin DiAngelo Decoding. Taking a break from right wing tech lords to focus on the lightning rod inventor of White Fragility. Long overdue but also nice to talk about her while there is no culture war whirlpool around her.

4. Decoding Academia next episode. Might be on Manvir's shamanism paper or possibly a paper that argues narcissism is at the core of attraction to conspiracy theories. We also are considering a short episode on the Haidt kerfuffle about the conference assessment requirements.

5. Later in the month we will do a random special with David Pizarro on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. This is not really that guru related but Matt and I are really enjoying the show and Dave's a fan so we figured a good excuse to geek out would be to record a discussion on it together. Will release here but probably not on the main feed!
