The Edge Of - Definitive Edition (Proof Of Concept/V0.1.0) - Sober (1$) tier

As you all know, I announced a few months ago that I'm working on a Definitive Edition of The Edge Of (my first project). The main reason why I decided to do this is because I heard quite a few people assume that the original version was "abandoned", mainly because of Beth's (the heroine's) perspective. It ends rather abruptly from her POV, and that's mainly for budget reasons. But the game as a whole was still completed.

In any case! The Definitive Edition will extend Beth's perspective a bit in order to touch on some of the events in the endings from Sam's perspective.

I don't know why I decided to start talking about that, really. I guess I don't know how to preface this.

This is a proof of concept for the game. It shows the new art, the new sprites, the new animations. I tried to also make the user interface a bit cleaner. I want it to "feel" like an upgrade. Still, there are a few things that are missing. There is no voice acting for Beth's moans, and I haven't translated it into Simplified Chinese yet. The Android version might also have a hard time or be badly coded. I don't know. I never put much effort into the Android version.

All of this is to say that, I want your honest thoughts and criticisms. If there are things you think are missing, please tell me. I can't add too much stuff—it costs a lot as-is—but I really want to try my best to make it a new experience.

Some of you who've played the original will notice that the OST and the backgrounds are still the same. When we ran some polls, both rated pretty low as to what would be important to upgrade. I also removed the 'object' (the doorknob, the door, etc.) from appearing. I feel like it looks cleaner without them. But if people think I should add them back, I would have to pay an artist to make them look… better.

This version, V0.1.0, which, fun fact, is the same length as the V0.1.0 of the original, only touches Sam's perspective, and Sam's first day. It is about 5500 words. It adds 4 CG sets and 1 sex scene.

I'm still missing William for the sprites, and there are some side CGs that I still don't have. It takes… a bit more time than expected. So I don't really know when the next version will be released. Compared to my other projects, I'm not in that much of a hurry to do so, but I'll still try to keep it in a timely manner.

In any case, I share this version with every tier. I wasn't totally sure if I should. But since it's a proof of concept, and doesn't add that much, it's probably a better move in order to get as much feedback as possible.
