In Defense of the Switched Outlet

In this very silly and rather over-the-top video, I'm explaining and defending a very common thing in US home design. My spidey-senses have registered that a lot of folks just... don't understand this? And it's a feature I really, really like so I figured I'd yell at the internet about it.

Auto-captions are in place already, and I'll be adding better ones over the next couple of hours.

There may be one more No Effort November video - but it'll probably spill into December. Maaaaaybe I could get it hammered out but I'm not sure.

Toodles!

My daily average snark has increased three fold since I’ve been following you on Patreon.

I missed this video when it came out and kept meaning to come back to it and finally did...only to find out it's not what I thought it was about, outlets where one side works and the other side doesn't...without any switch anywhere controlling it. I figured, "how does this happen? There's no faulty wiring in those things...there are no wires at all to be faulty!" It's at work and I have no authority to even take a look. Maybe it's one where that tab was broken for such use but never implemented, thus making one side dead.

Great video as always, but bonus points for the Carousel of Progress reference!
