And finally, a story about batteries in a camera

Indeed, it's that!

https://youtu.be/m5s6xerRqVY

I don't know what order I'm gonna actually release these in but that starts tomorrow! I know the Sights and Sounds video will be second for sure - I want to introduce the Connextrasvaganza first then put that out as early as possible.

Okeydoke! This is likely the last post of the year so if I don't see you until 2022, thank you ever-so-much for making 2021 so great. The world's been in a weird place but thanks to you I haven't needed to worry, and that means an awful lot. Thank you.

See you next year!

And finally, a story about batteries in a camera

Duracell is by far the worst with leaking though. The biggest thing I have to say for that is that one time I went to best buy to get something and stumbled into the battery section. In the pack of like 8 AA batteries, there was a leaky one. Literally in the pack in the store. On the other hand, I have never had a leaky energizer, not once, ever, so if you are going for batteries, go energizer, they last longer too

For valuable or difficult to replace items that requires AA/AAA batteries, I would use precharged Ni-MH batteries if the item works fine with the lower voltage. While it may not make sense using rechargeables in something that could last 10+ years on disposable batteries, I have yet to experience a single one leak and we've well over 100 AA/AAAs, most kept in a drawer to have ready for the Christmas lights each December. I had to replace a few clock mechanisms over the years due to disposable AAs leaking into the mechanism. From my experience, Duracell was the worst for leaking, followed by 7dayshop (a UK store own brand). BigClive also just released a video on battery leakages.

I have never had good luck with Kirkland batteries, especially AAA. I've lost a number of remotes because of leaky batteries. I have bought other less expensive batteries and have never had the leakage problem I have with Kirkland batteries. I just won't buy them anymore.

Photography is Aperture Science! Kirkland batteries are tremendous - so is Kirkland toilet paper, and a lot of Kirkland products. Makes the membership fees hurt less. (Not sure why their store brand is named Kirkland, since their HQ is about 20 mi away in Issaquah. Maybe Kirkland "rolls off the tongue" better?)

I also have a Canon T90 and I have a Canon FTb (which is the budget version of the F-1), and I too enjoy using the FTb more. It's just got that great mechanical feel to it, while the T90 feels more like using a modern DSLR. And I have a modern DSLR I usually end up using instead when that's the feel I'm after. Lately I've kinda wandered into the world of medium format, though. It's fun, but also heavy and impractical. So I'm not sure what I'll end up using most of the time.

Alec cut your hair. As a baldy, I'm jealous.

All these extra videos at the end of the year - glorious.

Professor Kroog

Me too. Waste not want not.

Are you releasing complete seasons together now, like Netflix does? 😅

We always put used AA batteries in the analog clocks you used in the previous video. Usually, they still lasted for a couple of months. Only when a clock could not run any longer, the battery was declared really dead and brought back for recycling...
