CED Part 4! It's here!
Added 2020-01-02 01:07:33 +0000 UTCHappy new year!
Start 2020 off right with a look back at RCA's fatal missteps! Well, ok, it's not the happiest of stories but it sure is interesting.
This one is rather talking head-heavy as I suspected it would be, so I do hope you enjoy it. Part 3 was, too, and I realize this is far more of a storytelling exercise than it is a demonstration, so I'm curious what you think. And of course I'll be curious to see how it is received upon wide release.
Captions will be coming fairly soon... in fact possibly later tonight. But for now, enjoy the continuation of the story!

I vote for Part 6 as a play by play commentary of this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fNlfGAzAM1k

2020-01-02 06:47:11 +0000 UTCLoving this series! I've been collecting CEDs for a few decades, but I didn't know about "The Business of Research" despite having worked in a company that is doing fundamental research and productizing it. I'm only part way through the book, but it's very interesting and relevant to me so far. Have you had a chance to play with any interactive CEDs? They were definitely ahead of their time. They're kind of a combination of CD tracks (called "bands") together with automatic freeze-frame menus that tell you which tracks to pick next. I have a few choose-your-own-adventure style discs, which are unfortunately quite bad as far as stories go. One of these is "The DisneyDisc of Mystery and Magic"; you can see the intro here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9RZReODrgqA

2020-01-02 04:14:54 +0000 UTCAnd here I was expecting that the way you'd get around doing an unwanted part 5 would be to just skip to part 6. π
