Just watched the latest episode of Apple TV+'s, "For All Man Kind". The show is set in the 1960s, and they got the Christmas light colors on the house all wrong!!

I think Target has exactly what you want! Red, green, blue and yellow! The colors look pleasing to me, and they come in twinkle or always on varieties.

I totally agree the blue led lights are so sharp/harsh. I don’t think I would go as far as painting a string of lights but I can understand why you did lol

...and speaking of "holiday lights," your beloved incandescent Twinkling lights are still available at Target. They have both clear and multicolored, though the colors are not "Alec approved!" At $5.99/box, you can continue to hoard the clear ones.

No-effort November is having a funny effect that brings the not-too-bad outtakes to be actual part of the video. And I have to say, it's really funny and charming. I think in videos that aren't researched documentaries, you can definitely be more lax in your takes. I really liked it (and the accompanying captions to those awkward moments. Love it!

Alec, I am completely with you on those light colors of LED strings, they are awful. The blue, pink, purple, and orange are just... offensive for some reason. I paid some damn good money for classic strings as well as the classic twinkling sets last year at target. Also found a few strings of the classic C9 strings and replacement bulbs. I think I spent like $115 on just lights alone.

That's the thing... I don't want to do that! I did before, but I always found the audio more muffled than I'd like. I switched to a boom mic, and am happier with noise and clarity, but am still struggling with room acoustics. I've slowly been adding things here and there, and I think it's been improving, and I have one more major thing to try before I commit to finding a better lav mic recording solution. I'll tell you that I MUCH prefer not dealing with a lav mic, and I will settle for less-than-perfect sound if it means I don't have to fiddle with it.

Your audio problem is easy to solve. You need to wear a lavaliere mic on your shirt or jacket.

Great video! I’m glad my girlfriend and I aren’t the only ones that hate the new blue. From a distance it looks so weird, like our eyes can’t focus on them.

I was just thinking about this today and picked up some Sharpies. I've been looking at Plaid Gallery Glass paints, but I think they might go on a bit thick since they're meant to be able to peel off glass.
