Roller Coaster Safety Systems

I warned you this was coming!  This may be my strangest video yet (at least in the context of what else is on this channel) but hopefully you find it interesting.  I've always liked to explain the sorts of behind-the-scenes stuff that you might not think about.

My last video has done very well, in fact I've gained well over 12 thousand subscribers from it!  Thank you to each and every one of you for keeping this channel going, as I couldn't have done it without your support.

I didn't know was interested in that before watching the video. Thanks, Alec. :)

Ooh! That's very interesting. The loading area at WDW has this large countdown sequence display that is synchronized between the two sides. In the past they would always send trains on cue with the last display to ensure they were always "racing". I was watching the displays and they are going too fast these days. It seems like they've given up doing that, and perhaps a similar control system is now in place.

I've read that Space Mountain, at least at Disneyland, weighs the cars during the stop before the launch to improve the spacing of the cars.

Even though I never really liked roller coasters and rides as a kid (Monster Plantation at Six Flags over ATL scared the crap out of me haha), I too have been interested in how they work. Great video!

Excellent diversion!
