(K)POPCORN REACTION | MIX n MATCH EPISODE 2

Comments

Thanks for appreciating my comment Chris! Riabetalkin sounds good but I feel like lot of iKONICs are with me on this and dont want to get the credit myself haha 🤭. One of the reasons why I’m still here in your Patreon is how you show great appreciation to the boys and their talent. I honestly just love seeing people like the people I admire so I’m all good here. Thank you for putting out lots of contents for iKON and I’ll check out your other videos too when I have time not just the iKON-related ones 😆

First of all, I'm sure you can officially be titled " KONICRIA_IS_TALKIN " 😂😂 Secondly, all jokes aside, thank you so much for taking the time to write all of that out ( understandably as it answered a lot from my long video) In regards to the point you made about iKON ( even as team B ) having a lot of talent and potential but being pushed to get confirmation, reminded me of one of the final episodes of W.I. when they trained with Parris Goebel and team and even she was mad shocked at their talent and level of dance skill. This is something that I have also been extremely impressed by since my first ikon dance practices but W.I.N really showed their talent. I still stand by my opinion that in the finale TEAM A did deserve to win the show (based on the final episodes) and yeah these survival shows are ruthless, but I also think that that is just the reality of the entertainment business. ( Not that it should be ) Almost all people at the top of their careers have had to put an unholy amount of energy into their craft, and the higher the standard the higher the pressure. As a consumer of media, I really enjoy survival shows, but as someone who grew up on stage and has a performer background, I have a lot of empathy for all the contestants as it's all happening in front of the camera where most people have their failures hidden. I'm curious to know the psychological effect of idols who have gone through survival shows compared to those who debuted differently. Honestly thank you so much for your input, it was really nice reading it this morning. Hope you have a great week and see you in the next iKON video! 😊

So Jung Jin hyeong is now known as Jey but I’m not sure how he got there… but I can say I enjoy his music :) and the new member in the next episode is now a member of another idol group, I don’t want to spoil it now but maybe you’ll recognise him :D Also now that I’m watching it again I really appreciate that ikon stuck together in the new company and to see they really meant what they said here :) of course B.I is another story but you can see he had always his own way of approaching things so I think his solo career suits him also very well :) Show me the money is a survival show for rappers only but they tend to look down on „idol rappers“ so it was a huge deal when Bobby won! In his new album on the track „why stop now“ the one featuring mentions it too: Bobby winning. The episodes are around 1 hour long, I think, but if you want to witness Bobby and B.I in another environment it’s perfect.

What I really love about Mix & Match is that u can see how the boys greatly improved from WIN even just on the first few episodes. I’d have to agree too, I didn’t like what YG said about Yunhyeong, and for a lot of things. For iKONICs (who are not YG stans mostly) we obviously hate YG for putting the boys to several survival shows. They were young when WIN started then after a year, they’re now in Mix & Match, and to add up, he sent BOBBY and B.I to SMTM which is another survival show for k rappers. SMTM is for like underground and khh artists and they used to think that idol rappers aren’t talented and are just pampered artists, which is why it was revolutionary when B.I and BOBBY topped the charts when they joined even though they kept on being dissed and brought down by the other rappers just because they’re idol rappers. They were doing 2 survival shows at the same time, they needed to write songs and practice for both shows which I think is too much for people their age. Eventually BOBBY won SMTM 3, breaking the prejudice on idol rappers and made them accepted in the underground and khh community. BOBBY was the first korean idol rapper to win the show and also while being still a trainee and not yet debuted which is insane. He’s also still the youngest winner to date. So this is me ranting about how much sht YG gave not only B.I, BOBBY but the rest of iKON, cause if you can see they obviously have the talent and the potential but they kept on being pushed through their limits and it does takes a huge toll on them which makes me sad when I think about it. They didn’t need to constantly get confirmation that they’re good but they made them think that they always need to improve themselves. I love their brotherhood so much, which hurts me even more now that they’re just 6. I believe they could’ve remained as 7 if only they weren’t pushed to the limit. And also YG kept on sabotaging the group when they debuted, iKON had a big fandom even before they debuted but the way YG managed them made them lose majority of the fandom, they never prioritized the boys which makes me mad till this day. They deserve the spotlight as one of the most talented groups out there, but sadly only their fans know that now. And BOBBY’s recent release f is for YG, he spoke his truth about how the management really didn’t care about them and so I love how freedom looks on them right now. Although alot of time were wasted while they were still stuck in YG (now when they can do whatever they want, Jinhwan needed to go to military and the rest will follow in the following yrs), we’d probably get iKON as 6 again by 2028-2029 and that’s on YG. They didn’t maximize or efficiently managed iKON’s time especially when they were at their peak. Also, after debuting in this survival show, YG decided to let them join in another survival show in China which is called Heroes of Remix while doing their Asia Tour, like why would they need to do another survival show after doing 2? And 3 for BOBBY and B.I. And then years later, YG then decided to let them join Kingdom. Yes it was a good platform, but i dont think they still needed to gain people’s approval as idols. They definitely proven themselves over the years but they still ended there and so they experienced 4-5 survival shows in their lifetime which they didn’t deserve. And lost a member at the middle of it. I’m obviously happy for them now, for both B.I and iKON but it just feels unfair what these talented team had to go through. Right now, iKON isn’t actually as conscious with their idol image and beauty standards which is one of the things that I love about them. After debuting, DK had eating issues trying to fit the idol’s image and sometimes he would appear to thin, i’m glad that now each one of them is confident and they know that their fans aren’t in it for their looks, image and pretty faces but the great songs, performances, and fun they deliver to the fans. I dont exactly know the reason why i started stanning them and why they’re the only ones they stan but what I can remember looking back from when I started liking them, I got hooked by a performance of them then started watching WIN and thought how could this team both have talent and genuine love for each other and want to survive together. I really felt that they’re family and they still show it to us even to this day. The fact that there’s this 7yr curse in kpop which means that when some groups reach 7yrs they disband or go their different ways, iKON decided to stay together. Let’s be honest, they could actually get more recognition by separating and focusing as soloists Or wherever they excel at but what they keep on saying is that whats important for them is that they stay together. They dont need new fans, more recognition, popularity. I feel like after 7 yrs they were tired of the idol life (i mean who wouldn’t with what they had to go through) and yet they stayed together and in the industry for the fans that are still with them. When everything was unsure i was preparing myself to hear that they’re gonna retire or separate because I would understand why they would do that, but instead they repaid our patience and understanding by staying together, performing more and giving back the love that they receive. That’s why they’re still here, and I love them for that. I wish alot of people would recognize them more but also at the same time, I love the fandom as it is now, we may be small, but we are the ones that stayed through everything they went through, I’m so proud of iKON. I didn’t think liking kpop can feel so rewarding and get appreciated by the people you stan. That’s the kind of people they are. Sorry for making this long and for ranting, its just that when i think of them, I just can’t stop talking haha. Looking forward to the next episodes of Mix & Match. Thanks for liking iKON, Chris!
