You asked for our opinion on whether a story can be 100% fictitious. I don’t think it can, since an author is rooted in the real world and inevitably draws from real experiences when writing. While Game of Thrones is set in a fantasy world, many of its themes, concepts, and symbols are derived from real life or historical events. There are several interviews with George R.R. Martin where he discusses historical events that inspired certain aspects of Game of Thrones. So, even if it were possible for a story to be 100% fictitious (which is doubtful), this story definitely isn’t.

Great reaction and great discussion! I'm really happy that you touched on a lot of points later on and connected some dots or crafted theories that didn’t initially come to mind when you first watched the episode. Also, it’s quite funny that you expected this discussion to be short, yet it ended up lasting much longer than anticipated! Don’t worry about the many different names and houses—they can be complex, and some are more important than others. Generally, the more important they are, the more frequently you'll be reminded of them. You're picking up on a lot for a first-time viewer, so no worries in that regard! I can’t wait for the next episodes and to hear your thoughts on the story to come!

Hey guys! I'm excited to join you on your GOT journey! There is a huge amount of lore and history in this universe. It can seem overwhelming at first, trying to learn and remember all of it. As you watch the important names and historical events will be repeated and things will become more clear. Having said that, to also help you better learn the lore, there are official Histories and Lore episodes that are available on YouTube. They are all narrated by the actors from the show, in character! The other great thing about them is that they don't spoil anything for future seasons. For example, after you finish season one of the show, you would go and watch the Season 1 Histories and Lore episode on YouTube and the material covered is only related to the things you've already been introduced to. It works like that for the rest of the seasons. I'm sure all of your viewers would love to see you react to them, me included!
