Bedraggled with his shield arm limp and wielding a two handed sword with on hand, the lion had looked far better when the fight began. He popped a potion into his one good hand, holding it with two fingers while trying to keep the sword angled at me.
I’d been waiting for that, snapping out a throwing knife from my CID and shattering the vial before he could even get the stopper out.
“Curse you.” He hiss and swung for my head, only for me to slip back, wincing at the pain in my chest. There had to be a few ribs that weren’t in the same spot as when we’d started.
Unlike him, I had two free hands and drank a healing potion as I stepped back.
The lion realized that he was going to lose a battle of attrition and came at me hard once again.
Between the few stacks of [Liminal Speed] that I’d managed to build up and Hemi’s [Haste Banner] I was able to slip inside his guard and deal sporadic damage while avoiding the wide sweeps of his sword.
He tried to heal himself, only for me to step in and use [Absorb] to keep it from doing much.
The fight had started to turn in my favor, but I also knew we only had so long before others arrived. The building gone, more Nekorians were watching our fight by the second.
We needed to get out.
The lion’s follow-up swing was blocked by a barrier of ice before a bolt of lightning stunned him.
I didn't even think, seizing the opportunity I had been looking for, my blade finding his neck. As I twisted and tore out his throat, I shouted, “Felin!”
As he collapsed onto the floor, Felin growled, “Finish him.”
I spun back around to see he wasn't dead yet. Seeing the rage within the lion, I knew I wanted to kick myself for briefly losing my focus at Felin joining me. Both my blades came down together, and I managed to fully sever the Nekorian's neck.
Grandpa walked up and took the head before stuffing it in his CID. "Best not to leave this around. I really wouldn't want this guy coming after you again in the future,” Grandpa clicked his tongue. "It's always a shame when somehow the universe finds a way to revive a past enemy. But even revive won't grow him an entirely new head."
Felin walked up to the dead Nekorian and reached around his waist, fumbling until she pulled out a pouch that she then tied around her own waist. She pulled out a spear and started stabbing him repeatedly.
“Angry much?” I asked Felin.
“Bad lion trying to take me away from my Ken.” She stabbed him a couple more times. He was not much more than a bloodied pulp. She stared down at the mess when she was done panting.
“He had something in his arm.” I said having seen him use it to pull items out.
She then began to poke around until she found a small object about the size of a watch face. Maybe a little smaller. It had just enough curve to it that it could fit more smoothly in someone's arm. Felin held it up to me.
“I think this is what they're using instead of CIDs.” I said.
She played with it briefly before shrugging and stuffing it in her pouch. “You probably had a few good things,” she said to the bloodied mess. “They were clearly idiots. They didn't even have any cream.”
I chuckled, of course she’d think about Cream. “Well, we need to get out of here. And then we need to get Crimson out as well.”
The building that we had smashed agreed as several walls suddenly began to groan, wood cracking and splintering before the whole thing fell down around us as we stood in the open looking like idiots. Nekorians stopped and turned to see us amid the shaman's now completely collapsed home.
Explosions off in the distance shook the other buildings and I quickly blamed Crimson for it falling down and not myself.
She was off fighting someone powerful that had drawn their fight away from the center of the safe zone and towards the edge.
“That's the shaman.” Felin pointed at the fight.
“Are you sure?” I asked, only to get a vigorous nod from my beautiful Nekorian.
“Absolutely. If it's not, then we have a problem. When you left, she explained to me that she was level 81 and that I couldn’t run.” Felin’s eyes were wide.
I let out a soft whistle, a surge of respect for Crimson battling that high above her own level.
Their fight continued to rock the safe zone. As far as I could tell, Crimson was going all out, launching ability after ability at the high-level shaman to keep her busy.
I realized that if we pulled Grandma Hemi out first, Crimson would likely lose her edge in the battle, possibly even her life with the sudden drop in speed.
“Grandpa, you need to get Hemi. We all need to get out at the same time.” He glanced momentarily at the fight in the distance before nodding and disappearing with the speed that he was known for using to get himself into and out of all kinds of trouble.
The second he was gone, Felin grabbed me from behind, nuzzling into my neck. “Thank you for coming,” she murmured.
I rubbed the top of her head. "I will always come, Felin. You just need to be ready when I do."
“Is there anything we can do for Crimson?” I asked, glancing at the fight in the distance and then back at Felin. After all, she was a support.
"Let's get closer," she said, rushing into a dead sprint, her spear held at her side.
I kept pace with her as she wove between other Nekorians.
Some had stopped to watch the fight in the distance, while others were working hard to prevent their homes from collapsing. The fight in the distance was wreaking havoc on the entire safe zone.
Felin slid to a stop at a group of Nekorians that had formed a barrier around the fight.
I licked my lips, my mind racing forward, searching for options.
The Nekorians who had barred the fight were there to protect their own people. Yet, when they saw me, they locked up, ready to fight us.
"Please disperse," one of them waved a sword at me, "Don't get any closer for your own safety." He tried and braced himself for worse.
The fight was not going in Crimson's favor. She was looking a little more beat up than the shaman, and that was with the boosts from Grandma Hemi. The regeneration would likely not last much longer, putting Crimson at further risk if Grandma Hemi ran out of mana. To make matters worse, her [Limit Break] was in full tilt. The red sparks flying off of her were even visible from this far away.
But her [Limit Break] ability gave me an idea.
I hadn't built up too much [Liminal Speed] in fighting previously, mostly because he had me on the defensive the entire time. However, if I built up enough stacks, I would be able to join Crimson's fight and possibly even turn the tide.
"Felin, you got my back?" I asked.
"Always," she said without missing a beat.
I rushed forward into the Nekorian guards, my blades flashing back and forth as I attacked with abandon.
Felin supported me, as barriers of ice popped up to protect me, allowing me to go all out on offense.
I had no intention of killing any of the guards. All I needed was for my blades to find target after target as I built up stacks as quickly as I could manage.
Abilities and weapons flew at me as I wove between them keeping my blades moving.
I attacked one guard only to switch to another because he was closer.
Felin wasn't joining me in the attacks, simply using the barriers and electric shocks to keep the Nekoreans from overwhelming me.
The lightning of [Liminal Speed] began to gather on my arms, each strike making me faster as I began to weave through the boundary around the fight. At times, I struck with the side of my blade to knock out young Nekorians who likely weren't even my opponents.
All of the hits culminated until [Liminal Speed] was roaring down my arms, and I glanced at Crimson and the shaman’s fight. I had enough speed to intervene and hopefully help Crimson turn the fight in her favor.
I ripped through the Nekorian guards, knocking a dozen out and ensuring that Felin would stay safe before I rushed in to help Crimson.
The Nekorian shaman turned at my approach, her staff filling with icy fury. She waved it in my direction.
I held my hand out and used [Absorb] to suck in what I assumed was going to be the shackles of ice to slow me down and appeared before her in a flash.
Her shocked eyes were satisfying as I activated Triple Breach, my swords flashing to strike her.
A barrier of ice sprang up between the two of us, and she spun around to ward off Crimson's whip. It wrapped around the shaman's staff as the second strike of Triple Breach shattered the ice barrier, and I closed in.
She was at her core a caster, even if her physical stats were still above mine.
However, I had a few tools to deal with a caster. [Shadow Limb] sprang up from my back as she tried to weasel away from my blades. The [Shadow Limb] stuck to her like glue. I activated [Mana Burn] while my blades flashed around her. I didn't stay still for a second, [Shadow Limb] stretched and moved with me as I danced around her, attacking her from nearly a dozen directions at once.
Crimson's whip came in from the side with a terrifying boom.
I dodged out of the way and came at the shaman's back while she focused on protecting herself from Crimson's much more powerful attacks.
Crimson's eyes were murderously red from her [Limit Break] ability. Lightning poured out of them as she pulled back her whip, which had wrapped itself around the shaman's wrists. Thrusting a stilettoed foot forward, Crimson activated an ability to create rings of red energy in a cone around her foot. Then Crimson shot forward, pulling the shaman with her whip at the same time. The collision was explosive.
I rode the shockwave, sliding on the balls of my feet before activating [Shadow Ambush]. I rejoined the fray, reattaching my [Shadow Limb] and [Mana Burn]. My swords came down in a rapid staccato, seeking any and every opening in the shaman's defense.
She coughed up blood from Crimson's attack before warding us away with a ring of lightning.
"Can't beat me, so you had to call for low-level backup," she scoffed and whipped her mouth with the back of her hand. The ring of lightning expanded into a maelstrom of bolts zigzagging all around her, she pointed her staff at Crimson. "You two may have passed a trial, but you are nothing in front of a shaman."
"The Goddess’ Fury!" she shouted aloud, her voice echoing throughout the safe zone.
Something appeared above, a single finger ripping through the fabric of space and pushing down on Crimson.
Crimson could control [Limit Break], but her control was still flawed. She didn't even glance up at the finger, her murderous focus still on the shaman.
Grabbing Crimson, she didn’t put up a fight against me and I ran as far away as I could as that delicate porcelain finger smashed into the ground where Crimson had been standing.
It was like a magical nuke had gone off, laying waste to nearly half of the safe zone. Not that it mattered, given that the Nekorians had fled as soon as they realized the move was coming.
Even in [Limit Break], Crimson blinked, staring at the damage done.
The Shaman floated slightly above the ground with a giant grin on her face. "Don't you see? I have the Goddess on my side, and you are nothing before her might." The Shaman raised her staff again before shouting, "Goddess's protection."
Instantly, all of the damage that had been done to her so far this fight was wiped away. The scratches, the blood, even the damage to her outfit vanished before a glowing sphere snapped around her.
The Shaman launched herself forward at Crimson, going on the offensive and smashing her staff explosively.
Crimson and I snapped out of our momentary pause at the level of destruction that the Shaman had used. It almost seemed like she’d been holding back until her people could get clear, because she redoubled with even more strength than before.
I managed to weave myself out of the way and return to the attack. I couldn't let [Liminal Speed] lose its stacks, or I wouldn't be able to participate in the fight.
However, my blades bounced off that paper-thin barrier around the Shaman, doing absolutely no damage to her.
She turned to me, disdain on her face. "Annoying, aren't you?" Another wave of her staff conjured a wall of wind that tossed me away.
I landed a hundred feet away, but I kicked off, rushing back at her. In the moment of that run, I let my mind race through my abilities for an option.
She had been casting near continuously with Crimson, and these last two were giant spells that must have cost a large amount of mana. There was a reason she had not used them right from the start. While she looked strong and was showing confidence, I had a feeling her tank was low.
If I could hit her with a [Mana Implosion], it would probably be fairly effective since it scaled off the target’s missing mana. She only started pulling these out after I joined the fight and began using mana burn. My mind swirled with thoughts, trying to determine how to break the shield around her. She claimed it was the ability of the goddess protecting her, but at the end of the day, it was simply an ability.
My mind went to [Arcane Singularity]. It would cancel all magic in a sphere around me.
I rushed back up to the shaman.
She smirked at my attempt, clearly confident in her shield and focused back on Crimson.
I activated [Arcane Singularity]. All of the magic around me was sucked in instantly, even one of Crimson's abilities that was flying mid-air lost its magic. The second the ability touched the shield, it dissolved before me.
One of my blades disappeared into my CID before the other touched her lightly. I activated [Mana Implosion]. A small blue bead appeared in the center of her being as it spun, devouring her mana.
Her eyes opened wide and she slapped me with enough force to break my jaw.
My body twisted end over end, but Crimson caught me and turned my head to see the explosion that I had started.
[Mana Implosion] had run out of mana to absorb and had expanded inside of her, swelling to an absolutely terrifying degree.
"Remind me how that works?" Crimson asked, her sparks beginning to settle down.
"It does damage based on how much mana the target is missing," I offered.
Crimson let out a whistle and jumped backwards as the void inside of her grew outwards into a swirling mass sucking in her entire person.
The Nekorian shaman exploded with power that dwarfed her previous ability. Any buildings still standing in the safe zone were ripped apart and tossed aside like scrap wood.
Crimson turned, grabbing someone else and using her back to shield us against the blast. I realized a second later that she had Felin pressed up against me, the Nekorian’s tail wrapping around my thigh for comfort.
Fragments of the ground and buildings flew past us one after the other. Crimson grunted as something struck her back. Yet, it was over as soon as it began, yet it had felt like an eternity.
Crimson straightened up and turned back to the scene of the blast. There was no sign of the shaman, not even a fragment of her remained. Crimson ripped open a portal beside us and threw us both inside before saying anything. "Going to make sure your grandfather gets out. I'll be right behind you," she said, before flashing away in a bolt of red. Her back was devoid of armor, having been stripped clean and her skin bled freely.
It was closer than she’d ever admit.
As the portal closed, soft hands were grabbing me from behind and green soothing magic rippled across my broken jaw, mending it and putting it back into place.
"Well, at least you got Felin," Des said. The warlock stood back as Charlotte kicked into her doctor persona.
She began inspecting me from head to foot, lifting my arms, opening my mouth, and ensuring I was fit for duty.
Felin sat to the side with swirling green magic of healing over time over her body. That would ensure she was healed up, though I was sure as soon as Charlotte was done with me, she was going to switch her full focus to her Nekorian party member.
Another portal opened up. I watched as Grandpa and Grandma Hemi were unceremoniously thrown through, followed by a well-worn Crimson. Her dragon leather bodysuit had seen better days. It was torn in multiple places and her hair puffed out of her braid where it had been collateral damage in her fight against the Nekorian shaman.
She must have taken a high level potion because there was no bleeding remaining.
"All right, new rule," Crimson said as the portal closed behind her. "No going back there," she pointed to everyone present. "I think we just successfully and thoroughly pissed off the Nekorians."
"You think?" I said, chuckling at Crimson. "I think you may have just created another race that now has horror stories about a red blur that destroys their people."
Crimson snorted, pulling her incredibly long dark braid in front of her and beginning to fix it. "The elves completely exaggerated that, and the naga are so violent they probably worship me rather than fear me." She glanced to the side, something suddenly occurring to her. "We can talk to the naga now.”
“If they also picked up [Universal Language], but there was definitely at least one in Star City when we arrived." I offered.
Crimson nodded thoughtfully. "I'm going to talk to her when I get a chance."
"Yeah, well, we'll put that far down on the list of things to do. I think we're going to have other concerns, at least in the immediate future," I offered.
Crimson shrugged. "Now, Ken, you're going to sit down and you're going to tell us all the full story."
Grandma Hemi suddenly perked up. "Ooh, we need cheesecake."
Grandpa began nodding rapidly. "Yes, cheesecake always helps. Let me help you, where are they again?"
I stared at the two of them, surprised at how lightly they were taking the situation. I shrugged. For world-class assassins, this was just another day.
"Well, I can start," Des said. "You see, we were in a safe zone…"
I let Des start off the story as I moved over to Charlotte. "Have you checked in with your family and your sister? I want to make sure that they're all okay."
She nodded. "My father was rushing to the Nagato estate last I heard." She tapped at her CID, checking before looking up at me.
"Thank you for helping, Ken." She pecked me lovingly on the cheek.
I grabbed her to squish her to my side. "Any time. Your family is mine. Picking a fight with the Nekorian race and destroying one of their safe zones? That's just another day in the dungeon, right?" I gave her my best charming grin, though I think it failed based on how heavily she sighed.

Ok so is the skill called “Shadow Limb” or “Shadow Arm” in chapter 1 of this book his stat block says “Shadow Arm” in 202 when he is fighting the boar on the hunt with Felin it’s called “Shadow Arm”….

2025-02-12 15:09:06 +0000 UTCHeadmaster at his college did basically say, you guys are all still students and don't know shit. So more education in how to use builds etc makes sense.

2025-02-10 05:38:03 +0000 UTCI could even see the Nekorians taking a mental step back and going hey, maybe we don't want to fuck with the humans after all.
MuteButtonHero
2025-02-10 05:35:28 +0000 UTCAs far as lifespans go, they aren't just cats, they are adventurers so the more levels they get the longer they can potentially live, same as humans.
Jacob
2025-02-10 05:27:38 +0000 UTCYeah I wondered if they try accusing Ken&Co of something and then end up with their own asses in sling over it
MuteButtonHero
2025-02-10 05:12:38 +0000 UTCTo go any further with this I think Bruce will have to get specific, not just broadly say it makes him stronger. Does it increase his stats? Let him function at a higher level? Damage resistance? Mana recovery? Healing? Buff his abilities? The downside is once we know specifics the multiplier effect means it can get way out of hand. And leaves us wondering if others have exploited it. And if not, why not? So for example if King Albar had used that he should have been way stronger. And if not, what kept him from using it? An open-ended buff like that sounds great when it's theoretical, but when it's time to put it into practice it can get very messy and have lots of implications for various parts of the story.
MuteButtonHero
2025-02-10 05:10:52 +0000 UTCThe barb mimics the same on male cats on earth. IDK, maybe it helps keep the female from pulling away before they impregnate them. As for them (or at least some) being assholes, there has to be some source of conflict and drama for there to be a story
MuteButtonHero
2025-02-10 04:50:44 +0000 UTCYeah, eliminating the prince should have come with some joke about having Prince Albar in a can
MuteButtonHero
2025-02-10 04:34:05 +0000 UTCThat would be super awesome, that will help his limited usability of his skill into something more versatile and applicable to more situations. Honestly his trelican or emperor class is kinda op with as long as he adds certain members with abilities that sync with his well, his class will literally be all other classes by default except for physical classes imo

2025-02-10 03:33:29 +0000 UTCLion boy is definitely dead. Shaman probably, no body certainty. As for baned from star city, if the naga haven't been banned, no way humans are.
Bob Bryan
2025-02-10 03:16:53 +0000 UTCYea the whole demon thing confuses me still... It seems like the other races are more worried or aware of him being a demon than the humans are. I'm pretty sure he is the first one with a full race change. Humans would be super freaked out.
Chris Cooper
2025-02-10 02:54:44 +0000 UTCI don’t they’re a set number of skills they can have.
Jared
2025-02-09 23:32:12 +0000 UTCThey get absorb always, and one of his skills by choice. But dungeon-trail-skills can't be shared. I still think ken should add felicity to the harem and get a skill to summon an elemental he can stab to build stacks before a fight. Just throwing this one out there...
Lukas
2025-02-09 23:18:28 +0000 UTCI bet the dungeon makes it so you had to really intend to kill them for good or something like that.
Dems
2025-02-09 22:14:27 +0000 UTCHe has gotten too focused on the Silverfangs and neglected the Nagato Clan
Jacob
2025-02-09 21:53:07 +0000 UTCThis has been a hot topic but I think the consensus is the dungeon wouldn't allow that kind of farming. Maybe you only get the exp after the time limit for revive or you only get the exp once
Jacob
2025-02-09 21:52:04 +0000 UTCOr XP notification.
Mavrox
2025-02-09 21:39:08 +0000 UTCYeah what happen to teaching or reminding people to respect the Nagato name. His grandfather mention that he has slipped in his training so maybe we will get some old ken back.
Mavrox
2025-02-09 21:29:48 +0000 UTCCould you kill an adventure, raise them and kill them again to grind XP.
Mavrox
2025-02-09 21:16:56 +0000 UTCIt is fascinating that he started out "aberrent" but had badass-assassin-training and a pragmatic mentality. The more powerful he got, the less interesting he became. First time, I think, that becoming a literal demon made the mc more of a wuss... To be honest, sometimes I hoped snusnu would take over ken, at least temporarily, so that we see something fun.
Lukas
2025-02-09 20:35:09 +0000 UTCSo if that's the case he should get a pretty large amount of xp for killing the guard and the shamen.
Chad Arrington
2025-02-09 17:32:51 +0000 UTCTo answer that we go all the way back to DD101 ch33...."and killing them had generated ten times the xp of killing a champion Fribbit" .(3 level 2 classmates = 60xp total) So yep XP earned for killing adventurers.
Dwayne Dilbeck
2025-02-09 17:31:01 +0000 UTCOh I agree that they are not the same as the anime loveable "catgirls" but like I was saying usually have shorter life spans. Well let's just see what happens.
Aaron Berube
2025-02-09 17:07:04 +0000 UTCKen can get one from each and they can get two from him. At least that's been the rule so far. I'm hoping that limit goes up with levels personally.
Grimmace
2025-02-09 17:00:08 +0000 UTCCrimson was lvl 57 after naga run she went to lvl 62 only Ken party and ug president know that she went up to lvl 62
Devil420
2025-02-09 15:58:55 +0000 UTCAnd how many skills can the girls even get that way? I thought it was one til this book, but if the answer is just yes, surprised they haven't turned him into a skill encyclopedia like they talked about before
Chewbacchus
2025-02-09 15:48:52 +0000 UTCSo it just accurd to me. Do they earn XP from killing other adventures?
Chad Arrington
2025-02-09 15:10:30 +0000 UTCTwo shitstains dealt with. Now here’s hoping those two are the Nekorian equivalent of King and Prince Albar and don’t represent the race as a whole
Raul Salazar
2025-02-09 14:55:48 +0000 UTCI was thinking the same thing. Because if that’s true not only the Silver Fang guild but also the Nagato clan and quite possibly the Haylon student body also view him in a leadership position. Not to mention any other of the high level adventurers like the harem queen would throw in their support. Now it’s also a question of if quality matters as much as quantity, if one Crimson gave as much a boost as fifty adventurers then holy cow just her and his Grandparents alone would be a huge advantage
Raul Salazar
2025-02-09 14:53:05 +0000 UTCReally like Ken and crimson working together and she’s not just plowing enemies under her. But I think she needs to get absorb. Just a quick question. Why didn’t just transfer the universal skill to his other harem members
Jared
2025-02-09 14:42:34 +0000 UTCI thought Crimson switched from Dragon Leather to T-Rex Leather for her outfits after she ruined them in the Naga portion of the dungeon. I remember the elves telling her about the lizards with powerful hides that Crimson hunted until there was 1 left. Then she used it to help Ken train. She named it Fred, because it rhymed with Dead, which is what Ken would be if Fred caught him.
Ben Cooper
2025-02-09 14:35:59 +0000 UTCFully agree, but on one point. Nekorians aren't the lovavle catgirls us ... "men of culture" like. Necorians are relatively violent and overall rather undesireable, so if the entire race (the open-world-nekorians) turn out to be assholes like the dwarves, so be it. Also, since they inherited other "bad traits" (ie: rough tongues that make any form of oral impossible, and males have fucking barbs that actively wound the females for no aparent reason, why not have them have shorter lifespans as well. Maybe nekorians are actually driven to level fast due to it allowing them to live longer, like was stated miltiple times that higher levels = longer lifespan
Lukas
2025-02-09 14:16:03 +0000 UTCI do enjoy the story... I just wish Ken would finally grow a spine In the first book Ken went and slaughtered an entire safe house full of goons and thugs because they threatened Fayeth. He fought experienced adventures, lured them into traps, used his skills and the training he got from his grandparents. But somewhere in the last few books, Ken has become a shadow of the man he had been. In the last book part of that has been explained by Snu-Snu influencing him, but nobody called him out on it, or said "Why are you letting this guy get away with this shit? This is so unlike you." And by now I am not reading the story for Ken, I am reading it for the side characters. If Grandpa somehow did a body switcheroo with Ken, I am not sure which of the two I'd be rooting for.

2025-02-09 14:15:51 +0000 UTCNever! I’m kinda like Cthulhu that way.
Naotsugu97
2025-02-09 14:03:40 +0000 UTCMight be. Or it requires a "demonic ritual" or "pledge of allegience" or them willingly declair themselfes as his subordinates or seeking his protection (that was hinted at when it was explained how higher ranking demons take care of their subordinates) Maybe different "bonds" contribute more or less than others to his overall rank, like haremettes count more than random gildmates, or stronger subordinates contribute more than a few (hundred) weak ones?
Lukas
2025-02-09 14:03:33 +0000 UTCThank you for the chapter!!! It was very refreshing. There was not some collar around Felin that made her a hostage (tired trope) Nor was there some OP mcguffin that nerfed all the protagonists ensuring their defeat and capture. Well done sir, I’ll buy you dinner if you’re ever around ATL!
Naotsugu97
2025-02-09 13:59:52 +0000 UTCOr, Bruce uses her as a antagonist later. Never believe an enemy is dead until you see the body or bits of it.
Mick
2025-02-09 13:58:58 +0000 UTCHighly doubt it, after Crimson spent months soloing hi level Naga only to get a level or two (Seems we can never get a straight answer on what she got) It would be nice to see everyones stats/increases including Grandpa and Hemi
Mick
2025-02-09 13:54:58 +0000 UTCCould end up with humans being banned, I'm sure the Nek's will try to spin it as Ken catnapping Felin and they were just trying to save her.
Mick
2025-02-09 13:51:49 +0000 UTCAt least the two perpetrators got what they deserved.
Posiden 300
2025-02-09 13:16:17 +0000 UTCGood to see the Shitty Kitties getting what they deserved, rather than getting the Shitstain Treatment and being kept around for no reason other than Ken trying to multiclass in Martyr/Saint. Of course it took Felin and Grandpa to actually make sure that the asshole lion a) got ganked in the first place and b) won't come back like an 80s slasher villain. "Lion-Man VI: The Scratchening" Crimson finally met an enemy that actually gave her a challenge, and Ken finally realized that maybe using skills smartly might win him battles. He still is my least favorite protagonist of all of Bruce's books I have read, because his shitty, pussified personality keeps him from realizing his full potential. "I get power from increasing my harem? Nah, I am happy with the ones I have.", "There is tons of girls who want to join my harem? And that would give me a metric fuckton of skills? Meh, maybe later, but probably not.", "This guy wants to kill me, rape my women, called assassins on my adrel, poisoned my friend, and is basically the shittiest Shitstain to ever draw breath? Better let him live, or other people might not want to be my bestest friends in the whole world..." There is a shitload of potential in this series. But Ken finally needs to get over his goody two-shoes "I want everybody to love me and never cause no problems to nobody" mentality. To survive in the dungeon you need to be strong and decisive. So far 90% of Ken's strengths came from other sources... his grandparents, his party, Crimson, even Snu-Snu. The only thing that makes him really special is his bloody class. If he had tested as an assassin, he would have been somewhat sucessful in the dungeon, but he never would have gotten past the 30s. Anyhow, TL;DR: Great chapter, Ken still sucks, but maybe he will suck a little less in the future #Spankings4ShittyKitties #Ami4Harem #Penny4Harem #Tish4Harem #Taylor4Harem #Selene4Harem #Candice4Harem #Neldra4Harem #Felicity4Harem #Cream4Kitttens #WhereIsAmi?

2025-02-09 12:16:46 +0000 UTCSo a few things need to be looked at and explained because if he killed the prince in the last book and killed many others as well but did not receive xp or levels from them even though he was lower lol. But in the first book he was able to get xp from it. Second when Crimson used Limit Break in the past it was a boosted her stats to go well beyond her current level with her more than likely at 65-70 by now 81 even with casting should have been a joke to her. Maybe two or three punches. How long do Nekorians live because usually Cats don't live long. Hate to say it but I think it is a plot that is going to turn people away. Maybe should have been a different race. Unless somehow other races are gaining xp faster. But again another thing not explained. With Felin back I will continue to read but still too many unanswered and lacking plot holes that need to be filled.

2025-02-09 10:31:53 +0000 UTCThey said they feared the Orkai from retaliating for picking on lower levels. The Orkai aren't going to punish Ken and Crimson for defeating a Nekorian many levels above them who tried to kidnap them first.

2025-02-09 09:42:15 +0000 UTCAt least 🤞 I think that kill was mostly all Kens, nearly all the damage Crimson did was erased by that health reset the Shaman did

2025-02-09 09:41:59 +0000 UTCYa taking the head was a good idea. I’d have taken the whole body, hard to say you murdered someone with no body to prove it.

2025-02-09 09:24:12 +0000 UTCGreat chapter overall, fun seeing someone who can put Crimson go all out and still not be winning. Be interesting to see if the nekorians complain to the Orkai or just suck it up.
John
2025-02-09 09:22:36 +0000 UTCDidn’t think of that, killing a level 81 has got to be worth a level or two.

2025-02-09 09:19:40 +0000 UTCYeah killing somebody almost double his level should give him a few levels at the very least if not some other dungeon accomplishment

2025-02-09 09:01:56 +0000 UTCThat ability is insane! I didn’t expect that level of devastation at all. Soooo fucking satisfying! I hope Ken gets some next level XP for that kill (pun absolutely intended)

2025-02-09 09:00:15 +0000 UTCFinally! I’ve been wondering why just taking your enemies head to prevent revive wasn’t standard practice. It seems too risky to kill someone’s and leave knowing they can come back.

2025-02-09 07:56:20 +0000 UTCA few things: 1.: grandpa got the right ideas (kill your enemies and make sure they don't come back) 2.: ken, for once, used his abilities, not optimally, but this just shows how op of a build he can make from just what he already has 3.: Ken still tried to knock out his opponents, just so they can come after him later, or bring the nekorians against him. He was trained by assassins! DON'T LEAVE ANY wittnesses to your fight. Your enemies not knowing it was you, or humans in general, protects all you care for. 4.: the nekorians have at least a few in their 80s, whereas the best of humanity are in their 40-50s. Conclusion: don't fucking fight them! Get stronger, reenforce your defences. Make sure you turn every win the nekorians get into a pyrric one, so they come to think of it as not worth it fighting humanity. Make allies, if possible. (Orkai) Overall a better chapter than the ones leading up to it, bit still shows that ken could and should be better at this point, than he effectively was during the last few books. So take this opportunity to get back into the school-setting and bring in analysts from the ug, if you must, to actually come up with a cohesive build for ken: 1.: fix the initial-stack-problem (by maybe giving him an ability that is really weak but builds stacks incredibly fast, like "a thousand paper cuts" or give him a lower level skill-book that lest him summon a durable but weak summon, he can stab a few times (or use the aforementioned stack-build-ability on) to build stacks 2.: make him realise that he needs a more cohesive build. He already recognised that some of his skills are too weak a few chapters ago. Make him realise , or have someone else tell him, that he is fundamentally a mage-killer, augmented for high-speed-fighting due to LS and he needs to build around that. You know, like what I suspected a dedicated dungeon-college is for. If all they did was teach basic tactics and the established tactics to beat known bossess, like we saw in the first books, that is useless after the shuffle. Also, ken now has this demonic form as an upgrade to metamorphosis, that takes all his magic stats and adds them to his physical stats. Why not have this advanced version give him STACKS on initial use? This way you handily solve the initial-stack-problem, but tie it to another ability that he might only pull out for really hard fights. Overall this chapter moves the story slightly in the right direction. If ken almost loosing a lover to evil, overleveled kitties doesn't serve as a wake-up-call for him to wisen up, the only way would be to actually loose a lover permanently.

2025-02-09 07:54:22 +0000 UTCVery satisfying. Good things come for those that wait. While it may be satisfying to wait for the revel. I think the CID will let us know how much XP such an uphill fight earned. Hehe....they just started a civil war. Just wait until it is report that a strang Spirit Tiger caused the fight to start by summoning a demon and his concubine.

2025-02-09 07:38:59 +0000 UTCThings are becoming epic. I can see Nekorian civil war if the kidnapping of Felin gets out. War between World Nekorians and Demons/Humans. Potentially World Nekorians being banned from Star City due to the kidnapping of Felin. Hopefully we will not get another round of retconing allowing the shaman and lion to reappear.

2025-02-09 07:25:07 +0000 UTCGood. Lion boy is dead and will stay dead. Shaman, maybe. Annoying but they did everything they could, good fight. Hopefully there are better nekos than that group or a resistance. They need to find the other dungeon nekos and warn them, very much now.

2025-02-09 07:21:17 +0000 UTCThat was satisfying all around. There’s room for larger conflict or maybe even intervention in the Nekorian conflicts that were hinted at, but the group doesn’t have to get involved right now. I’m curious about the state of adventurers overall too. Are people pushing? Did they have a massive drop on active members and now are rushing to train under qualified people who failed the first time? It’s interesting to play out how that could affect society in their world. Would the military require all soldiers to train up to 30 and constantly push their stats at different tiers? The progression path seems obvious, even if it’s difficult. I can’t imagine people wouldn’t be willing to do an extreme workout for the massive, tangible benefits the classes have gained.

2025-02-09 07:13:46 +0000 UTCDamn. That fight was Epic! 🤯 I loved that Ken used Mana Burn and Arcane Singularity. I forgot that worked off how much mana a caster had already used. I thought it was fuelled by the Casters remaining Mana, so that's a good reminder. The Shaman's faith based spells (based on belief in Neko) were interesting, but I love her shocked expression in how AS dissolved that spell. Shame we never knew if that killed her, or just critically wounded her. But at least they'll think twice before trying to go after Felin. I wonder how the Dungeon Nekorians are going to react to this? I really hope the Spirit Tiger tribe back in the Nekorians Homeworld gets wind of this and ends up siding with Ken for helping one of their own long thought lost branches. But yeesh. Another race war starting?! And I definitely want to see that conversation between Crimson and the Naga
