DD 204 Ch 4

King Albar stared up at us as we walked into his office. Two pretty women lounged behind him as if begging for his attention that he took power in not giving them.
"You are aware that I have more important work to be done. I cannot clear my schedule every time you wish to barge in, Crimson," he spoke as if she were insufferable. Part of it made me want to punch him in the face. Perhaps when we were done with our encounter, I would do just that or far worse.
"Sorry, you're dealing with me today," I said, stepping up. "Your late son had a substantial bet with me, notarized, and I have my victory notarized as well." I began to pull the evidence up on my CID, only for King Albar to wave his hand dismissively.
"And that's important to me. Why?" He asked.
"He used SJS Financial to back the bet, and it was a substantial sum," I continued. "Besides, your son's dead. To be frank, I killed him." I smiled at the older man, only to watch his composure break.
This was never going to work being honest with him. The way the prince acted told me all I needed to know about how his father would view the rules.
He snapped his fingers at all of his men in the room, standing up straight.
The two women that had been seated behind him also stood up. Despite them lounging around in rather scandalous attire, both of them were just as strong as the other bodyguards.
"I think you're mistaken that you can barge in here at all, and further mistaken that you can make demands of me. Seize his CID," he gestured for the two women behind him.
I pulled my sunglasses down my noise a smidge so that I could look over them. "Are you sure you want to do that?" I hit both of the women with a greater charm.
They froze up, pausing momentarily, their eyes unfocusing as they seemed to be struggling to move.
If I had to guess, they were likely in the upper forties or possibly lower fifties in terms of level. They were higher level than me, but it wasn't an insurmountable gap. I watched as they both struggled, but then their eyes glowed faintly, hearts growing in their pupils, and they stopped struggling. Now they were underneath my power.
Satisfied, I slid my sunglasses back up.
"Do me a favor and smash his head into the table." I instructed, doing my best to stay serious and not smile at the situation.
The woman closest to King Albar grabbed him by the back of his head, before smashing it so hard into the table that the thick wood cracked. The rest of the guards shouted in surprise.
But Crimson stood facing the other guards, her whip now out as she played with it in her hands. "I think you should all stay right there. After all, King Albar is decently high level and he has two guards with him. We haven't lifted a hand." Crimson could barely keep the laughter out of her tone.
"Yeah, I haven't done anything," I said. "I think these two ladies have just seen a reason to be angry."
King Albar growled something as his face was still being held against the table.
"Sorry. I couldn't hear you." I stepped up and tilted my ear closer. "What was that again?"
"I will kill you for this." The man slurred around the wood pressed against his face.
"Oh, I'm sure you very much want to, but I think I'm outside of your striking range. Let him up," I gestured for the two women who were now under the effect of my charm.
King Albar snapped forward with considerable speed and strength. Somebody had helped power level him up to the upper 40s.
I smacked his hand away effortlessly, striking him in the throat and sweeping his legs out from under him. "I’ll give you a minute to warm up. You seem pretty rusty," I chuckled at how weak he was comparatively.
Of course, he had the levels and some of the stats, but quite frankly, he had none of the real combat experience to give any of it an edge. He was now grasping his throat, wheezing on the ground. I used my foot to roll him over.
"Ladies, I'm currently owed 20 billion Ren," I said the number slowly, a grin spreading across my face. "It seems your employer is having some trouble accessing his systems. Would you be willing to help me?" I smiled, pushing on greater charm.
Both of them beamed at me like two love-struck fools. "20 billion," one turned to the other. "To move that much might be difficult."
"Oh, I'm sure SJS can manage. They move great sums all the time." I offered.
The two giggled and pulled up his laptop, eager to impress me. Greater Charm was terrifying indeed.
"We're going to need a facial scan from him," one said as the other began typing.
"I'm sure we can manage that." Grabbing the King by his collar, I held him up, noting he was missing a few teeth and blood dribbled out the edge of his mouth. Much of the fight had left him.
"You can't steal that much money," he said through his broken teeth.
"I'm not stealing," I shot a quick glance at Felin, telling her with my eyes this was not the time to speak up and claim to be robbing them. "We're simply ensuring that we get our due. Consider it more like repo men, just a higher level and a lot more money." I chuckled to myself, enjoying my jokes as I held him in front of the computer.
The two charmed guards tilted the laptop screen until it aligned with his face and the next page unlocked. Then they began typing again.
"Why don't you add another 10 billion as... we'll call it an apology," I said after a moment of thoughtfulness.
King Albar choked on those words. "I order you all to stop," he slurred through his shattered teeth. But they didn't look at him for confirmation, instead glancing at me.
"Oh no, please continue," I waved my hand and they went right back to work.
King Albar looked absolutely miserable as his money was quickly siphoned from various accounts. His fingerprints and facial scan were used, and the two guards clearly knew all of his passwords, and those that they didn't know were being authenticated after they unlocked his phone.
"Really now, you should have had more security in this," I chided him, causing him to glare angrily at me in turn.
"Laugh while you can," he mustered up enough courage to threaten me.
I leaned down on his face and gave a quick hearty chuckle. "I can. Because the truth is, Mr. Albar, I hope you find that address acceptable. You're completely toothless in front of me. There is literally nothing you can do to stop me. Sure, you could be like your son and send more assassins, but I don't think you realize that while being stuck in the dungeon, I have gained significant levels. Enough levels, that once again, you simply are no longer a concern. I charmed your guards, not because I fear them, but because I didn't want to have to bloody this whole office. My fight is solely with you," I said, patting him on the cheek before glancing at the two charmed ladies. "Are you done yet?"
"Almost finished, Master." They both bowed before resuming work at a steady clip. I twiddled my thumbs, watching as numbers spun on his screen.
"So, Grandpa, what are we going to do with 30 billion rin?" I asked, checking to make sure everything was in transfer.
Grandpa adjusted his sunglasses. "There are many things we can do, especially once the elves are reconnected. We could take up so many trade opportunities, not to mention we could expand the Silverfang compound and attract lots of talent from all over the world. Heck, I have half a heart to recruit those two ladies," he pointed at the charmed guards.
King Albar laughed. “They're dead as soon as this is over.”
“You’ll have your own problems as a member of this company when they realize 30 billion is missing. Especially if you try to sue me for it, because then I just have to take the defensive position, you know, delay, show the evidence that I have. I'm sure we can tie it up in court for decades. All the while, you'll never see the billions. You see, that's the whole point. That's why we're coming here and we're taking it first and playing the legal route later." Sometimes you couldn’t play by the rules and win, so you had to set the board first.
"Done." One of the charmed guards bounced on the balls of her feet while showing me the laptop and moving through the tabs, mentioning where all of the money was coming from.
The blood continued to drain from Mr. Albar's face as he watched with horror as personal and company accounts were used.
"Wonderful," I clapped my hands together. "Keep King Albar's head on the table." I took a step back. "The two of you, would you happen to have any grievances against the King? I'm sure two lovely ladies like you must have something."
As I asked them that. I never took my eyes off Mr. Albar, which was good, because he pulled himself off the table with more speed and strength than he had shown since I knocked his teeth out.
A dagger appeared in his hand, going right for my throat.
I put as much astonishment on my face as my own short sword came out, swinging to block while using dark strike.
His angle was poor and easily deflected my strength carrying my sword through the attack and into his neck.
As his head rolled on the floor, I stepped back, my eyes wide, doing my best impersonation of being shocked.
"I was just defending myself," I said, before glancing at the rest of King Albar's guards, "right?" I could see several of them swallow before glancing at Crimson and intelligently nodding along. "Great. And if you would, get the video of his office?" I gave my sweetest smile.
"There is none," one of the guards replied. "He would never record the conversations in here."
I glanced at the two charmed ladies, one of them moving over to the bookshelf before pulling apart several books to reveal a hidden camera. "He kept this for blackmail." One of them handed it to me and it disappeared inside my CID.
"It's a standalone device. He doesn't want it on the network," one of them said, "but I guarantee it was recording. He turned it on before you came in."
I smiled. "Wonderful." I was completely prepared to defend myself if need be.
The Albars couldn’t be left at my back, not after their repeated attempts at me and those close to me.
"Now, are you going to stand in our way or would you please call the authorities and politely explain that King Albar grew irate over the perfectly legal situation and overreacted?" I dusted my hands off and motioned for my group to follow. As we walked straight towards the elevator, I twirled the badge, taking it with me to ensure that I could get out of the building without trouble.
"How'd that feel?" Crimson asked as soon as the doors slid closed.
I glanced at her. "Actually, better than I expected. I know they say that crime doesn't pay. And of course this was not a crime. But being a little forceful in this situation, really did make the whole situation far easier." I spoke as if we were talking about the weather.
Elysara glanced at the two charmed guards still following me like lovestruck puppies. "And what are we doing with them?"
I shrugged. "They might make good workers. I'm not sure how long this ability will last on them." I said, turning to both of them, "Would you both be willing to submit your accounts to the police officers as they arrive and then lead them up the elevators? Once you're done with that, you're welcome to join the Silver Fangs or frankly the Nagato Clan. I doubt you'll be welcome here. Sorry about that."
"We'll follow you anywhere," they replied dreamily. Serious conversations would have to wait until they were out of the charm.
Felin walked up between me and them, waving a hand in front of their faces. They only shifted their heads so they could keep their gazes on me longer.
"It's kind of creepy," Felin wrinkled her cute nose.
"Kind of hot," Crimson disagreed, rubbing her thighs together.
"Of course you would think so. Sadly, the ability won't do anything to you, Crimson. I think you're already just as bad as them." I laughed, and so did everyone else in the elevator.
The tension from the situation eased off my shoulders, but surprisingly, more than anything, I felt unburdened after dealing with the Albars.
Sure, this will probably cause a little trouble, but being defensive while we held the money was going to be a far easier situation than trying to pry it out of their hands. It was something a few hired lawyers could manage rather than taking my personal attention.
The elevator dinged at the bottom, and we walked out, sunglasses back on.
Before we stopped in the lobby, I gestured for the two charmed guards to wait and not follow any further. "Here is my number. I'll happily give you a portal when you call."
I waved my hand, and turned back to Crimson. "Can you bring us to the estate? I assume no one's going to be left at Haylon."
Crimson opened a portal, and before we left, I smacked the broken gong for good luck, leaving the two lovestruck guards behind.
As soon as we stepped out of the portal and into the Nagato estate, Grandpa summoned money from his CID and started fanning it out while simultaneously throwing it all over the place.
"We're rich!" He screamed and rolled in the pile of money.
"Weren't you already wealthy?" I scowled at him.
He popped back to his feet, dusting off a few bills that were sticking to him. "We were wealthy, and we had plenty, but now we're loaded as fuck. I could build a whole library."
Several of the people in the group were nodding along with his words, however, they did not know him well enough to realize smutty magazines were far more likely to fill that library than any academic books.
I could only slap my face and drag my hand down. "Alright, Grandpa. I think it's time we reconnect with the rest of our group." I shooed him away.
He was completely lost in his sudden delusions of extreme wealth.
I snatched up Elysara's hand. "Let's go see if we can't find Neldra.” I assumed that Neldra would still be with Grandma Yui. Hopefully, she was not under shackles and being experimented on. Yui was precarious. In public she typically made sure she resembled gentle healers. Most were a softer persona.
However, in private, Grandma Yui was nothing other than a sadist. I had shivers when I remembered her training.
Walking with everyone to the central area of the Nagato Estate, Neldra was already outside, swinging her sword in fluid motions before blurring across the yard to strike an invisible enemy. The older elf had her gleaming Censor breast plate on and her silver hair pulled pack in a tight ponytail. She was completely focused on her motions, indulging in being able to move again.
Each movement stirred the winter frost on the grass, making the ground at her feet glitter. It was like it should be a painting.
"Ah, Broken Blade. I see you've got one that's still put together," Crimson shook her head as she pulled out a bag of chips and started munching on them loudly.
Neldra's eyes narrowed at the bag, but said nothing as she hid her sword into her CID. "I'm not inside a house. I can have my weapon out." She said defensively.
"Yeah, those are the rules. Just no weapons in the house," Crimson nodded along. "You're fine. Seems you have some energy back."
“Thank you Ken.” Neldra nodded and bowed to me.
“What about me pulling your ass out of the dungeon?” Crimson huffed, before stuffing more chips in her face, chewing them angrily.
Neldra tilted her head like she was confused. "Ken's really the one in charge now, isn't he? And so it's only deserving that he gets my praise."
Crimson rolled her eyes and began to crunch loudly on her chips again. "Whatever, Broken Blade. We need to get ready for when everyone shows up."
"When they show up?" I asked, glancing at Crimson, "who are you talking about?
She snacked on a few chips, swallowing before speaking. "You do realize that news about Star City is about to spread. The UG is about to go absolutely mad learning about it. And then, every high-level guild is about to swarm the Nagato clan." She munched another chip as if it was just another day, and not a big deal. It made absolute perfect sense, but I hadn't thought that far ahead.
"Well, shit," I said, glancing back at Felin and Elysara. "We should probably get ready for that."
Crimson nodded and pointed at my CID. I must have had it on silent because messages were flashing across the screen from Des, Charlotte, Penny, and many others in rapid succession.
I quickly brought up a larger screen from the device and began typing replies.
Most of them contained the same questions. They were asking either where I was, what I was doing next, or more information about Star City. Some of the people more distant from me also included questions about Crimson’s location. However, anyone from Haylon didn't ask that question, knowing she was likely by my side.
I quickly began to invite everyone to the Nagato clan. It would be easier to answer all their questions at once, and besides, I wanted to rejoin my party, and furthermore, those of my class, so that they could venture back to Star City and deeper into the dungeon with me.

This is a draft right? This feels unlike the other books or even Ken. This feels off and frankly I think I done reading DD if this is a finished version.

2025-02-18 12:12:56 +0000 UTCShe was still recognized as the most powerful of all divers. It's also of note that no human was ever recognized as being 60 or higher. Humans haven't been diving that long. Once again, anyone fifty or over was considered part of the strength of humanity. We can argue it forever and everyone will have different opinions on it, but I just don't see a bunch of level 50s available for casual guard duty. Or even motivated to be guards at all. It's not like there's a tradition of service like the royal censors partake in.

2025-01-28 21:56:26 +0000 UTCOne thing that seems to be a factor here (not sure if Bruce is actively writing it or it's just organic) is the growing disconnect between adventurer power and the law. There's been a lot of text about how higher level players can be contained if they're truly rogue, but Crimson breaks those rules - she cannot be contained at all. If she wants to pull a Judge Dredd and just claim she IS the law, there's nothing anyone can do to stop her. Ken will likely be there soon as well.

2025-01-28 11:54:09 +0000 UTCCrimson at 57 wasn't way beyond everyone because of her level, it was because she had a power with the broken mechanic of Limit Break. 57 was just how far she had gotten so far, but she was still very young and still rapidly rising, until she took time away from diving to teach & level Ken so she could have a diving partner.

2025-01-28 10:27:50 +0000 UTCIf I remember correctly, the legal consequences of intentionally making someone unrevivable are very different from simply killing them. And once they're dead you could not claim self defense. Not positive but I think that came up before.

2025-01-28 10:20:47 +0000 UTCRight now I see him mostly lacking in the range department. If people can keep him at range early on and keep him there he can build up speed and close the gap. He has his arm and some quick movement abilities but with enough experienced people I’m sure he could be blocked. But he can’t really hit anyone from range unless he steals a spell. If he could find something that could hit from range to count for liminal that would be great so even if he has to back off for an aoe ability they don’t drop

2025-01-28 07:20:52 +0000 UTCThere are plenty of villain archetypes to use from then mirroring humanities mob mentality stupidity when we can’t even deal with it in the real world.
Nozzy
2025-01-28 07:17:06 +0000 UTCIn this world it would be a very good idea to just take the body with you if you want the person dead. Or hang around till whatever the time limit on revival is past. If that guard that Crimsom stomped was really brought back, this guy is almost certainly going to be brought back. It’s a building full of his employees. A great new skill for Ken might be “Sure Death” that makes sure your victim can’t be res’d.

2025-01-27 21:53:06 +0000 UTCCrimson : "git gud" ^^ What then? a dungeon-overflow due to the shuffle? Making the dungeon the "antagonist" until we get the next arrogant prick with a very punchable face? I, at least, enjoy a little variety in antagonists AND fiction mirroring reality. Rivals pretty much don't work anymore since ken is now approaching crimson-level-strengh, with LS at least.

2025-01-27 20:32:05 +0000 UTCYea I was saying I would rather have another Albar than mob mentality where they blame everyone else and expect everything and everyone else to give them or do what they want. It’s the same mentality the world is dealing with right now, would rather read something else besides real world idiocy in a fantasy magic world. Unless crimson and everyone else teaches them to start doing like our older generations and pull together to get shit done themselves.

2025-01-27 20:20:07 +0000 UTCDon't forget that he took the only video of the incident with King Albar trying to violate an UG notorized document and trying to steal it. That video also has the King trying to kill Ken to prevent him from collecting the money. SJS is going to go bankrupt.

2025-01-27 17:36:52 +0000 UTCI’d imagine that at least one of the guards knows a revive spell and will bring back King Albar but I’ve noticed that SJS financials was mentioned as the number two of the top firms. Who’s number one? Possibly the UG? If so I’d imagine they’d be more than willing to run interference or straight up protect Ken or the Nagato clan from SJS

Raul Salazar
2025-01-27 17:09:58 +0000 UTCBut not in curt. He could relly fuck their family over , and secure his clas financial stbility for the following generations, even if his kids dont want to follow the family tradition of murdering and stealing. Plus it would show the public a strong front, to intimidate and stop them from suicide by nagato for pissing them off.

2025-01-27 16:22:43 +0000 UTCSure, but hasn't been a generation since the earlier books - it's been what, 2, 3 years? Lvl 50's should still be very rare. Having said that, though, Ken and Crimson need to somehow get to the 80's to even be a small player in this new larger connected world, and the 90's to be a real power. If this were a cultivation web novel we'd be looking at another 1500 chapters over 4-5 years to finish it. :-)

2025-01-27 15:54:21 +0000 UTCHoly shit! I totally forgot about them! I was just so happy that the royal college, as an extention to PAlbar, was gone, but yeah... there is potential.
Lukas
2025-01-27 15:27:09 +0000 UTCWe have the whole of Royal College and their parents. Not many worse antagonists than wealthy, entitled poopy-heads. They don't come straight at you, they come through the powers they own, like the markets and/or courts and/or stirred up public opinion.

2025-01-27 15:23:44 +0000 UTCTenses can be weird. In this instance the correct tense was used. Might read better if it said "were of a softer persona" but either way works to the best of my knowledge.

2025-01-27 12:14:52 +0000 UTCAfter the failed Naga invasion at the end of DD103(?) there was a renewed push for humanity's higher level divers to begin levelling up again. AFAIK not quite a year has past since then and based on the meeting with the UG in the last book they have been sending rescue teams wherever Crimson sends them. No reason to expect that people other than the students were leveling up all this time.

2025-01-27 11:26:54 +0000 UTCOh, that scene with Ablar's father was very enjoyable. A couple of notes: "I put as much astonishment on my face as my own short sword came out, swinging to block while using dark strike." I think part of this sentence is missing. "As much" implies comparison. "In public she typically made sure she resembled gentle healers." I recommend chachaging that last part "a gentle healer; most had a softer persona."

2025-01-27 11:19:38 +0000 UTCI’d love to see a chapter from the president of the UG’s pov when he learns about Star City. Well I just enjoy those occasional wtf moments from other characters.

2025-01-27 11:14:30 +0000 UTCI’m gonna laugh when the UG and guilds want portals to Star City just to be told the rules say they have to make it without outside help.

2025-01-27 11:11:57 +0000 UTCOh, an actual discussion. I'll bite. You are right, that is something that's said. Bear in mind though that Crimson was considered to be the pinnacle of humanity at level 57 when the book started. She was the absolute best. The drive and effort just to make fifty wasn't even possible for most people. People with that kind of drive don't just quit under normal circumstances. They certainly don't go to work for a mere company when they could make much, much more by doing their own thing. As was stated in the earlier books, most adventurers stall out in their mid-twenties to thirties because overall strength falls behind for adventurers versus monsters. Remember Penelope's dad? He was considered second rate because he was in his forties. Not even good enough to be invited to the unveiling of the portal device. Those fifty and over are the best, period. While there may be some with ties to financial (and other) organizations, why would they even need the money or waste the time to be guards? Those in the late thirties and maybe early forties? I can see if they're semi-retired or in the case of Kai Ming, part of a dedicated organization, but even he wasn't fifty.

John
2025-01-27 11:00:44 +0000 UTCIn one of the earlier books they said that humanity keeps getting higher and higher level with each generation.
John
2025-01-27 10:59:01 +0000 UTCVery much so! People attacking ken and crimson because they blame them but knowing full well they can't take them out. This would give us an anti-ken-movement comprised of "weak" but driven enemies. They might try anything to take down the "emerging demon lord ken and his murderhappy crimson". Alliances with other races like naga or dwarves, that ultimately backfire and make earths situation worse, but ken and the ug can't just fix the problem since they can't just wipe out large numbers of common folk.
Lukas
2025-01-27 10:54:39 +0000 UTCIt’s not wrong though. Historically people prefer to place blame rather than try to solve things themselves. I mean don’t get me wrong sometimes that blame is earned but other times it’s not.

2025-01-27 10:43:33 +0000 UTCYou know, in the first few DD books, anyone over fifty was considered part of the strength of humanity. Now, you can't kick over a rock without finding half a dozen scurrying for cover like roaches at a cheap motel. Just my two cents worth.
Brian
2025-01-27 10:19:15 +0000 UTCI see your point. But didn't we just have an arrogant egoist as antagonist? Albar was that and he only survived as long as ken or crimson didn't just end him. So he felt weak and petty. I'd rather have some variety in atagonists. Maybe evil machen? Or in earlier books of DD I would have said: second male transfer student brought in by the headmistress due to some hidden agenda. But now? Honestly don't know? Any Ideas?
Lukas
2025-01-27 09:05:15 +0000 UTCWould rather have an egotistical arrogant asshole who is weak be an antagonist instead of lazy assholes who blame everyone else but themselves. Adventurers die, part of the profession if parents don’t accept it should have let the kids do it or should have trained them better. Or they can go in themselves to search. People like that with mob mentality are stupid and highlights what’s wrong with society today. Would rather not read about it unless crimson makes stains of them

His main class is fundamentally a "mage-breaker" so focused on distupting the enemy and turning their spells and mana against them. Now he is a demon, who aparently will get stronger the more "minions" or harem members he gets. Also demons usually come with corrupting and controling the enemy, which fits greater charm. Maybe a summoner or necromancer type class? He already has this sword that raises the dead temporarily. How about turning that into a secondary class for him? His demonic species would make him stronger if he gets a lot of minions. His second class could allow him to raise his fallen enemies or turn them into more uniform demonic summona like imps that he could store. Maybe he could get a special stat or ability that dictates how many he can store? And he then has summons on demand to get his stacks for LS up at any time. I kinda like it. Rise of Ken, the demonic shadow monarch! ^^

2025-01-27 08:13:34 +0000 UTCThat was Epic. Loved that interaction. Though I would have enjoyed Yui going a little scary on Nelda. Also, are Miriam and Tish out of the dungeon?

2025-01-27 08:12:18 +0000 UTCDang, I didn't think about him getting a new second class now. I wonder if there would be anything that synergies with his Trellican class or Liminal Speed.

2025-01-27 08:03:11 +0000 UTCFinally, done with the Albars and SJS! good riddance to that plot! Satisfying end, especially the use of charm (mind control type abilities are usually either handled wrong, underutelised or overall unsatisfying; not the case here ) Hope the next antagonist makes up for Prince Albar, even a new, faceless threat like a looming zombie-horde would top him as antagonistic force. Maybe some grief-stricken parents of adventurers who died or where lost during the shuffle blame the ug or ken and crimson? Happens after natural disasters all the time: "someone should have prepaired! They should have seen it coming, but did nothing!" Or "they only brought back those they liked and everyone else was left in the dungeon! Why aren't they searching for the survivors?!" You know? Shit like that. Antagonists who might not be a threat due to levels, but never underestimate the masses, especially if they are overly emotional and blaming you for their misery. Looking forward to what might come next.

2025-01-27 08:01:53 +0000 UTCHis CID isn't broken, it simply isn't calibrated to reflect his status after the race change. He will need a new one or Felin's assistance every time he needs to update his stats. It can still be used perfectly fine for inventory and communication. Just like the one they gave Felin to use in the UG store previously.

2025-01-27 07:53:30 +0000 UTCAlso, Ken had the questionably legal right. And while he provoked the attack, he was attacked first. They never gave Crimson the argument of self defense.

2025-01-27 07:51:08 +0000 UTCI'm this case were was correct. Grandma Yui wears a softer persona in public because she isn't one. Most healers, like Charlotte, don't need to pretend, they are a softer persona.

2025-01-27 07:49:35 +0000 UTCGod. So satisfying. Fantastic chapter and fast resolution to the sjs. Im betting we will hear more about it but it will mostly happen off screen.

2025-01-27 07:44:17 +0000 UTCOops. I meant the race change. Just got used to it being his class of demon, but I should say his species among the Demon race. And yeah, I'm definitely curious what his secondary class will be now that that has been freed up?

2025-01-27 07:40:08 +0000 UTCNow that he doesn’t need a second class for stats like he did in the first book. Makes me wonder what secondary class he is going to pick from those kiosk things

2025-01-27 07:38:00 +0000 UTCI think she doing a favor for the UG and Haylon, by putting up with the sjs.

2025-01-27 07:33:54 +0000 UTCWhen he’s asking his grandpa about what they are going to do with the money. He calls the money rin instead of ren. Also talking about grandma yui. “Most were a softer persona. Most “wore”

2025-01-27 07:26:47 +0000 UTCI was under the impression that his CID worked fine excluding his stats, like it did before he met with the elves. I could have easily missed something.

2025-01-27 07:26:06 +0000 UTCAnyone else picturing has grandfather swimming in smut mags like scrooge McDuck swims in money? 😂

2025-01-27 07:22:35 +0000 UTCHis CID can’t show his stats but still functions as a storage and communication device
Austin Mead
2025-01-27 07:22:04 +0000 UTCIt worked for storage, not for stats or the other functions.

2025-01-27 07:21:21 +0000 UTCHe no longer has the incubus class. Just his racial skills for being an incubus lol. That showed a chapter or two ago when Felin checked his tattoo.

2025-01-27 07:18:45 +0000 UTCConstantly impressed with the quality of the chapters that you manage to pump out daily. Pumped for this story to continue and this chapter felt great watching papa albar get his comeuppance.

2025-01-27 07:17:43 +0000 UTCIf it was this easy to deal with SJS, how were they able to force Crimson into all those meetings and making her pay a settlement over the DPS bet over the last two books?
ArbabSB
2025-01-27 07:17:19 +0000 UTCSo is Ken's CID only partially broken or did I mess him getting a new one? Great chapter though!
David Hoerner
2025-01-27 07:16:27 +0000 UTCHis CID didn’t work. Why does it work now?
David
2025-01-27 07:13:31 +0000 UTCYou know what good for Ken. I feel that was dealt with swiftly and efficiently. Maybe some very minor issues later but nothing we will probably see.

2025-01-27 07:12:19 +0000 UTC😂, oh this chapter was so satisfying to read. Dealing with SJS like that was highly amusing and entertaining... But King Albar was a surprise... So much like his spoiled shit of a son, and just as inexperienced, relying on stats and gear... Though dealing with him like that was a nice and sudden surprise! Love how they dealt with it and intimidated the guards. Charming the two bodyguards was an interesting twist, but if you have the incubus class and abilities, use it! Hope they take Ken up on his offer when the ability wears off. And the press conference next chapter is going to be interesting...
