Patreon Update 5-1-24

Sorry for the delay on the Patreon update. I wrote the first one on my laptop and it went kaput, so decided to rewrite something. Don’t worry all the story stuff is backed up three places daily. So didn’t lose much there.

I hoped you all enjoyed Returner. It was a fairly exciting one for me to write, I blazed through those chapters, and there was something about the shorter chapters that made my brain happy to knock out 3-4 in a day. In the end it’s about as long as an Ard’s Oath book and I wrote it in 3 weeks.

I’m working on Dungeon Diving 202, but it’s going a little slower than I’d like. There was the illness and I’m unfortunately not getting much sleep, the little guy hit the 4 month sleep regression hard. I want to write by I have bottom of the barrel focus.

There was a delay on DD 202 because I knew we had the big raid competition coming up, and I really felt that wasn’t enough to really carry the story. Sorry, but I don’t want to write them hitting the same boss a dozen times a night and failing.

Though, I realized Ken needs to step into his assassin role more and finally I think I have a full story to tell.

My goal is to get that one out on 6/9 and then take a month off publishing after that. I’ll still be churning out content on Patreon, just going to try and open up more editing space. I’m a little disappointed how many errors are getting reported after publication lately and want to get another editor in there. It’s hard with the monthly cadence.

One of these days I might drop the monthly cadence get more editing in and do audio dual releases.

Yet, that’s not going to happen soon.

Audio is coming along. DD 201 just finished up and I’ll get time to put a preorder up for that one on 6/9. AO 2 should be out on 5/9 and AO 3 to be out on 7/9.

Webcomic is continuing to shift back. I’ve had to step up and get more involved in managing the project than I originally intended. Good news, it’s getting back on track with my close management. We have 5 chapters done. I want a 5-10 chapter launch and 4-6 chapters of buffer. Yet we are in production and everything is starting to work smoother so that we can get down to 1 chapter a week of production for May I hope.

Here with the start of DD 202 I’ll share more art from the webcomic with you all.

The DJ kickstarter has passed the 25k mark so I’ll have to write a short story add on for each of the first three books. A lot of questions have gone out if people can get those in ebook/audiobook format. I think I can swing that, just going to take a little more time to get them recorded. I plan to write those during my month off. Unfortunately, they will be limited to those participating in the KS.
