-That second song is called “World’s Negatives” and was originally released on TDE’s first ever compilation mixtape called “Do It N*gga Squad, Vol. 1” which dropped May 10, 2008. -This means Kendrick was 20 years old at the time, a month before his 21st birthday. -For comparison, Kendrick would have been pretty close to the age Nas was when Illmatic dropped. -In the opening bar, Kendrick references Nas’ opening bar off the first real song on Illmatic - NY State of Mind - “Rappers I monkey flip ‘em with the funky rhythm I be kickin’” - then two bars later references Nas’ album “Nastradamus” released in 1999. -Song produced by Sounwave, and the beat is a slowed-down flip of the hip hop producer legend J Dilla’s song “Gobstopper” from his classic album “Donuts” - which was released on Dilla’s 32nd birthday just 3 days before he passed. (RIP Dilla) -For me, Kendrick’s flow is reminiscent of Jay Z’s flow on Reasonable Doubt, Hov’s first album in 1996 back before Hov went fully commercial. -According to Genius, this song interpolates “D’Evils” which is in fact on the Reasonable Doubt album -My favorite line is “And that's crazy, yo; when heat is on, I put on a coat/Then take it off when it's about to get cold” -Also Ab-Souls line “I can't be held accountable that negatives beating me down, pooh/Got me rolling with guys, making G's, telling lies that sound true” -Last thing, when Kendrick said “Since 2009 I had this b*tch jumpin’” on “Not Like Us” he could have easily said 2008 because this song is 🔥 !!!

2024-12-26 20:24:56 +0000 UTC@Xray it hasn't been pulled, it's just only available by typing it in a certain way or if you go to YouTube music the whole "throwback/harddrive" album dropped is there. You have to type in Kendrick Lamar & the exact name of the song to find it on regular YouTube. It doesn't just show up on his regular page. It actually dropped like 4 or 5 days ago & wasn't up but maybe like 10mins when it got pulled. That's all Kendrick. He's making sure that it's not available to the masses aka haters & Drake Stan's, u got be ready to go on a mission to find it. I think he finally got that hard drive back jumping. This could change the entire trajectory of 2025 if so!
