Everything Nathan does is pretty much real, everyone knows they're being filmed but always under the guise of a legitmate thing so all of the reactions are indeed very real. His other shows are similar and equally ridiculous.

They are contacted and given a rundown that they will be participating in a reality show, but the details of said show are kept vague and minimal to keep reactions genuine like "having a business consultant design a promotional event" or "just filming a mock interview" Some people are completely clueless like the customers, but are likely given a consent form regarding their filming (those who say no and those who are never asked are the ones who get their face blurred)
