Not Dead, Just Resting (Again)

Took an impromptu break after New Year to both rest and refocus, and it's been longer than I expected. It's helped a lot, even if not posting chapters and delaying Spellblade 7 is a financially unwise decision.

I'm back writing now and will finish the Mob Sorcery Christmas Special this week. Spellblade 7 will resume afterward, but is obviously going to be severely delayed. No estimate on a release date (other than before the end of March, as that's a hard deadline) as I'm revisiting the story entirely. Almost certainly starting from scratch again. It'll be a bit before new chapters are posted as a result.

It's always a weird thing to delay or rework stuff, given harem is a genre that creates expectations that everything can be written or done extremely quickly. I can't be bothered anymore talking about how those expectations are often fradulently created, but I'll simply say that I felt I faced a choice between simply writing a book and the book I think needs to close off this arc of the series. I also underestimated how sorely I needed a break after writing so much in the second half of 2023.

Also, while this news pushes back Demon's Throne again, it is still the next book on my roster. I've realized it's going to need a serious amount of effort to jump back into the series and it was never going to happen in March (I would have repeated the mistake of last year with Neural Wraith 3). I'll likely be working on Mob 3 between Spellblade 7 and DT4 as a cool down between two epic fantasy series, as that was always the point of Mob.
