Spellblade Cover Previews
Added 2022-05-21 06:54:24 +0000 UTCSome early previews of the cover art for Spellblades 6 and 7. I said basically the same thing when I posted the Demon's Throne previews ages ago: I prefer for patrons to see the art here first.
Because the books are months away from release, the typography and cropping might change somewhat when I post the final version alongside the chapter previews. Notably, the Spellblade 6 cover is probably a bit too small (but zooming in throws off the color balance and makes it less interesting).
The final two cover girls are Seraph and Fyre, respectively. Seraph finally gets an excellent cover, although the cover that ends the series is absolutely amazing.
Switching cover artists wasn't done by choice, but it's turned out extremely well for the series. I don't plan to redo the older covers, for several reasons (commercial, the fact they're still good covers etc).
I won't say which cover is my favorite (although you might be able to guess), but I am interested in which is yours.

The uniform and sword similarities between Ciana and Fyre are intentional, and they're intended to be Omria references - the artist created some neat imagery for Trafaumh with Book 5, and I wanted that carried over to Book 7.

The two new covers look equally good though. I really liked Seraph in the last book, so seeing her is great! And I like Fyre's obsessive character a lot. ( though she is hiding her tail) I really love the horse ears on both Quiana and Fyre π
