March Patreon Update

This is a more news-focused version of the update I gave to Messenger patrons (as that one includes additional behind-the-scenes commentary to make up for last month).

February was a fairly rough month, which means I didn't get done as much as I planned. Demon's Throne 3 should squeak through with a release at the end of the month, but I we'll see whether I still do the pre-order as things will be tight.

The Spellblade 4 audiobook is out on the 15th, for those interested. The length has updated on Audible, putting it at over 19 hours (I'd wondered if it might hit 20 hours when I sent Podium the manuscript tbh). There's a host of new accents and characters and some of the scenes turned out well when spoken (such as the final Ciana scene).

The art poll went as expected, but I did want to check before I started commissioning anything. Assumptions have screwed me over before. I'll focus on characters from Spellblade who aren't going to get cover art first, and update the Patreon page with the goal.

I am going to make some small changes to Patreon rewards. They are as follows:

• Streamline some of the reward wording around extra content for Messengers. No changes to actual rewards will happen, however.
• Exclusive art will be added to the $5 Bastion tier
• Messengers will get the final 30% of the book shortly before release. There still may be differences from the final book (due to last minute chapter additions etc).

For anyone on the $5 tier who is concerned, note that this means the extra chapters will only be available shortly before release. The jump to Messenger is the price of the book, and it will come out shortly after the extra 30% is posted. I want this to be a bonus, as sometimes it's hard to post additional content when I'm mired in writing a book.

Finally, I am working on future series for later in the year. Specifically, the Cipher story that I posted for Messengers will be turned into a series and WIP chapters posted here as I work on them. The final versions will be available at the $5 Bastion tier leading up to its release. Additional series likely won't be published until Spellblade is close to done.
