Choco Log 3 - April across the Years - POLL AT THE BOTTOM!

April is an interesting month for me, every year. If March is where I feel I'm finally picking up my stride after the holidays, April is where I measure where I am: what have the changing seasons brought. We make up our own little rituals: and for me, the April check is a mixture of judgment and renewal.

So looking back at past Aprils (I've posted one picture from each year), I find a kind of comfort in how... unstable this solemn month can be: there were some particularly harsh years (2023 was the worst: my burnout had hit hard) but I find comfort in the fact that they passed.   It gave me perspective: that there is an end to the struggles - something that I can't perceive while I'm stuck in the mud.

So, when it comes to your careers, hobbies, and aspirations, try to reflect in all the struggles you have overcome! Yes, there will be new ones ahead, but it helps to remind oneself of the positive outcomes, to fight the masochistic epistemology that can form from taking measure of our potential when things are uphill. Think of it as a workout for the muscles of your mind that need to be strong to fend off easy-come negativity.

SUPER MONSTER QUEST UPDATES

I am currently sketching chapter 10! The plot is a bit flux between this and the next one: I know the scenes that come next (such as the reintroduction of some characters from the videos!) but the connecting tissue can be a bit of a blur-- and as I said on the last chocolog, I like to keep it that way.

Today, while drawing a page, I realized an important plot connection for Rex that I wouldn't have if I hadn't given myself that leeway.

SO, APRIL: WHAT DOES IT MEAN?
