Iwai (Shading smudge practice)
Added 2019-07-25 01:39:04 +0000 UTCI saw a tutorial about a style where you smudge your picture over and over and draw over the smudge. So I did something with that as a quick warmup. Not sure how I feel about it, but it's done!

I will say, though. The kind of shiny effect it gets is rather nice.

The idea is that you draw shapes rather than lines, then blur, then on the same layer, draw again, and again, the values build up, until you add the sharper details at the end. But it's not my specialty. Either way, I think I'll stick to my guns-- my gundad guns. And draw more Iwai when I can
