Patreon Update - June 2021

Hello Patrons!

We are coming to the end of the month now, so I thought it would be a good time to let you all know what's happening behind the scenes, and what to expect in the coming weeks.

Offline Combat & Combat Rewrite

As announced last week, Offline Combat is coming in the next Major Update. Along with this, the entire Combat system is being rewritten to accommodate for such task.

This system is almost ready to be put on the Test Server, ready for everyone to give it a go an provide feedback on how it all works. I'm not sure how long this test will go for as we need to locate any bugs or inconsistencies with the rewrite.

Nothing will change mechanically in Combat, but there will be some minor balance changes due to the nature of how the new Combat system will work.

Cooking Rework

I also mentioned in the announcement post that we are getting a Skill Rework. I can happily confirm to you that the Skill getting reworked is Cooking.

Currently, food is an extremely simple mechanic that doesn't really provide that much variety. Food as it stands is also way too easy to come by and stockpile, so this is being taken into account with the rework.

Cooking will mostly work the same as before, with a few mechanical changes. This rework will introduce multi-ingredient foods, as well as an extra bonus "type" of food for those who are quite good at Cooking.

The premise of this rework was to ensure it was kept simple, but to also provide the player with more options to take into Combat with them.

As usual with reworks, you will keep all progress you have made. You will just need to level up the Masteries for the new items introduced.

Steam Client

Behind the scenes, I'm also working on a new Steam Client. This client will download the game locally to your computer, and fetch updates on launch if you have an internet connection. It will also allow you to play the game without an internet connection at all, which is a highly requested feature.

There's no ETA on this one, but it is making good progress so it shouldn't be too far away.

Conclusion

Keep a look out for the upcoming Test Server in a couple of weeks! I'm sure a lot of you will appreciate that Offline Combat is finally coming to the game :)
