Me too. I am so tired of "France surrendering" jokes being taken seriously.

Daniel

My family came from Poland before WW1 broke out so I've never felt particularly Polish. But watching this does give me a tingle of pride to know I'm from a country that can lose all of its land and still carry on in the hearts of its people.

Ryan Wojciechowski

I guess it depends on your perspective, Polish maps have referred to the city as Gdańsk for a long time, but you are right the most Western maps always refer to it as Danzig. I just think that since the city has been part of Poland since 1466 it should be called by its Polish name.

John L

It's Danzig for Historical Purposes ~ it didn't become Gdansk until after the Second World War Ended.

Martin Verran

yepp. They don't teach that in school anymore?

Like he said they got gun shy. The lead up to this was to prevent another global conflict. The French advanced as far as they did because they believed Germany would stop.

Sean Sarff

So, basically, Poland didn't HAVE to fall, it's just the world watched as it did and didn't help, at least not in the way they said they would, or in any other way that mattered?

Nathan Black

As a Polish person, I greatly appreciate you guys doing this series, since most people don't know much about Polish history. At the same time, come on guys its Gdańsk not Danzig!

John L

So why did the French stop their advance? Did they just take the lands they wanted and said, "OK that's enough for now."

Jason Youngberg

[Stuff breaks, people despair, country falls] - "If you think that looks as epic as I do, check out the link below!" Ouch, I think my mood got whiplash...

Cifer

Poland: "why must every 11 minutes of my life be filled with misery!"

Quinlan Vuong

I Hope somebody Sponsors a Series about the Invasion of the Low Countries and France.
