It does, yes! AoC 2 will be out in just under an hour for $3+ patrons.

Extra History

If we Voted for an Episode on the Battle of Trafalgar you would have a good excuse to talk about the Spanish Ship La Santisima Trinidad, then Spain's most famous Warship, and, at that Time, [1805] the Heaviest Armed Ship on Earth. I'm not going to say what happened to her since it'd give the story away but let's just say she didn't exactly meet what I'd call a Heroic ending, unlike the HMS Hood a Century later.

Martin Verran

wehn you say saterday dose that mean friday for patrons with 3 $ and moore.

schuyler

Yeaaaaah!

Extra History

I know, right?! LANCELOT. I wouldn't even have the guts to name a kid that. ;D

Extra History

I wish that were why, but no, sadly EC is just running into a slew of production issues right now. We're trying to right the ship! But it's disconnected from the EH pipeline.

Extra History

So that was the reason for delaying one of the regular episodes couple of weeks ago? Well... you redeemed yourself :)

Pavel Yakushevich

Lancelot Holland might be the most British name imaginable. Just as naval officers on an active mission drinking sherry as an appetizer is the most British behavior imaginable.

EXTRA Extra History? Bring...it...OOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNN!!!

Martin Verran

You're gonna be pretty darn happy with us, then. 8-)

Extra History

Awesome! I love when we get extra Extra History! Twice as much of this show for a couple of weeks is frankly more exciting than most holidays for me. lol

Thanks for the link, good episode. This page's structure is radically different than any other Patreon page with a video though - either Patreon changed absolutely everything just now, or you embedded somehow differently than usual. Can't tell until someone else posts another video. Anyway, thanks again!

Marco's got it, but that said, we actually changed the title of the episode on YouTube since it was causing confusion. The Yamato does grab the title of largest battleship from the Bismarck when it's commissioned, but for the reasons Marco explained, the Bismarck held that title (and was thought of in that way) at the time of our story. But I've now updated the title here on Patreon as well, as that just causes less confusion all around!

Extra History

While technically the Yamato was only launched, launched only means the hull has been completed. The armaments, radars, fire control etc aren't fully installed and calibrated: the crew has not been fully trained. Commissioned is when a ship has all her systems fully installed and has completed speed and gunnery trials therefore ready for active combat service. Bismarck was commissioned in August 24,1940 and Yamato was in December 16, 1941, so at the time of this story Bismarck was the largest warship afloat.

Marco Honrade

Just a nitpick before I even watch the video: while the Bismarck, and her sister ship the Tirpitz, were certainly formidable vessels, they were actually not the largest battleships afloat. That distinction goes to the Japanese ships Yamato and Musashi, displacing almost 72,000 tons fully equipped. The Bismarck and the Tirpitz displaced around 50,000 tons with full load.

Benny Löfgren

They did, and we've got four episodes of it, so strap in! :D

Not sure why that's happening as the video's definitely up and out on YouTube. But here's the direct link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2CV1tvMYFRs

I think perhaps something is broken on Patreon's platform? Here's the direct link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2CV1tvMYFRs
