Poll Results - How Development Will Go For Now
Added 2024-12-09 21:02:01 +0000 UTCTo keep from stalling too long and taking away from dev time, I've made a decision on how to move forward with development.
Thank you to everyone who liked, commented, voted in the poll, and for those that became paid patrons. It was really motivating to see people involved and it's clear that people want to see more of the game.
The vast majority of people voted for the Finish It Later option, but the Good Enough option was a respectable second place. It made it clear that people are okay with waiting if needed. The number of people who voted so quickly helped a lot in being able to make this decision quickly too.
So after seeing what people have voted for, then thinking on it for a bit, I've decided to go with the Finish It Later option.
Worst case scenario, the new computer I buy still wont run MV, but the game will be in a somewhat complete state before I leave, in terms of programming, and within the year the artwork should be completed.
Best case scenario, is the artwork gets done around the time I can afford a new computer, and it ends up being able to run MV. Then I can continue development.
I also may end up trying to buy MZ at some point and seeing if that works. Then seeing if it's possible to port the game. It seems like MZ has the same problems as MV though. I imagine because it's likely built on the same base code. It's very expensive and I'm not willing to risk buying it when it may not work. Once I move, if I see it on sale I may give it a shot though. Or if the patreon ends up making enough to buy it, I'll give it a shot.
How Releases Will Work -
Alright, so now that I'll be finishing the artwork later and focusing on programming, I wanted to talk about how releases will work for a while.
First off, I'm still planning on doing the patron only release. It's something I promised before, and I don't want to go back on that. So the next release will still be patron exclusive. It will also include the collectables guide. I'm planning on releasing it as soon as I complete the collectables rework and implement the new scenes and unlocks for Ayako and Shiori. I went to get the artwork for the last working girls scene into the game, and apparently it's not actually done. The base scene is done for Sandy, but I never did the variations for the other girls. This process can take a few hours, and I just don't want to spend the time on it and delay the patron release even more. As for when it will be out, it should be out by Dec 23rd. The goal is to have it out before that, but it's looking like I may only be able to work on the game on weekends for now. So that's the latest. Since I'm not doing a public release, it will just be released whenever it's ready too.
As for future updates, I'm planning on doing a release that will at least have an ending for the game and as much else I can put in in February. Just without the artwork. That way there's time to go through the normal release schedule and get the game out to the public before I leave. And still have some time to fix any bugs people find.
Order of Priority -
Since the amount of content I'll be able to include will entirely depend on how much time I have, I've setup a priority order from most important to least important. If I somehow get through this list, I'll start to add more, but I think this is a reasonable amount to be able to add and test before I move. So here's what I have planned for once the patron release it done.
Add final lab character
Do lab ending
Finish Angela's storyline
Add pregnancy and new scene for working girls
Add new scenes and outfits for Rinko, Freya, and Aoyagi
Add 4 more rare women
Add Random Beach Babes
Open the Hospital with Random Nurses
Open the office building and add the Office job and Random Office Ladies
Add Minori (Akari's daughter) and her storyline
Add the rest of the MMC characters and storyline
Add the rest of the rare women
Add collectable sets into the hospital and office building
If I get through all of this and there's still time, I'll go from there, but this is the goal. As long as I at least have weekends off, and don't run into any major issues with programming, it should be doable to get all of this programmed into the game before I move.
The Countdown Begins -
Now to get back to work. Seriously, thank you everyone for your support. It really means a lot and is very motivating. I hope everyone looks forward to the future of Waifu Wonderland!
