Poll #6 Results and Meet Aviva!

To get the next poll started as quickly as possible, I'm doing this week's update a little early.

Alright, so poll #6 has come to an end, and the results ended up being pretty surprising. Here's where everything landed.

I was super happy that both of the 3D options passed. My original vision for Waifu Wonderland included having 3D and I'm glad people are on board with that idea.

What does this mean -

Now for the fun part! I'll talk about what this means and go into how I'll be implementing each of these. I'm going to go sort of backwards, starting at the losers poll and working my way up through the options. Let's dive into it!

Losers Poll -

Since the losers poll didn't pass, there wont be a dedicated poll with all of the losers. However, I am going to be doing another "which side character gets a new scene" poll, and will be including the losers from the previous poll. When looking at the v0.3 roadmap, I realized that there was no space for new scenes for existing characters, except for the ones that were already announced basically. Which was a mistake. I always planned on doing a poll to include another scene for side characters. I originally was only going to include new side characters to keep there from being too many options, but since this option ended up with so many raw votes, and I noticed a lot of the people who voted for the losers poll voted for characters that didn't pass the previous side character poll, I feel like that's a good compromise for those that voted for this to give their favorite character(s) another shot at getting a new scene.

Male on Futa -

For this one, I've decided that I'm going to do one unique side character who is a futa, and then I'll be making a futa variation for all the future "random" characters. With the futa variations being a bonus rare variation. Not sure exactly how I'll decide to implement them, but I'm currently thinking of doing 1 futa version for each individual spawn. That way it's not literally just one, but they also shouldn't pop up too much for people who aren't into them. So the number of variations will change depending on the number of spawn points there are. They'll have the same spawn rate as a rare, but give more exp. Probably not a full 4x exp, but likely something like 3.5x. Since they'll have a unique spawn per spawn point rather than per type, that would make each one a little bit rarer than a normal rare. I feel like that's a good way to implement them. It'll clearly state that they're a futa, so they'll be completely avoidable, but still there for those that are into it.

However, I've also been considering making a unique rare for each spawn already, so that they feel rarer. Right now it kind of feels like the uncommons are rarer, because there's multiple versions of them. While the rare has a chance to spawn everywhere. If I do that, futa will be worth the same as the normal rare.

3D Collectables -

Now we get to show off some renders! As mentioned in the poll, the 3D collectables included will be of existing renders I've already made. Mostly of existing characters, and mostly goth versions because that's what I'm into right now and what I've done the most of. I've started doing non-goth variations of scenes, but those are only available on my 3D patreon. I can't include those. These are all publicly available already, but if you haven't seen them, below is a few individual renders from sets I've done.

Since this got both the most raw votes and most weighted votes, the current poll is to decide on a brand new set for the game! Since collectables will be removed from the full version, I'll also be making the set I make available to the public, but not until the game build with the set is released to the public. I just thought it would be a fun way for everyone who wanted 3D collectables to have a say on at least one set in the game. The poll is up and it's characters I haven't made a set for yet. There's also a write-in option if a character you want isn't listed! I'll be doing an extra set specifically for write-ins.

Anyway, here's some parts of sets that will be included!

First is the goth edit I did of the ever popular Tracer. She's got a mating press, deepthroat, fingering, and missionary set.

Then I did a "goth girl summer" series where I did goth girls on the beach. These are mostly pinups. Yoruichi was already shown in the poll, but here's another of Lulu.

Then I did a big set of a Goth Rouge the Bat doing a tonguejob/BJ. I'm not usually into furry stuff, but Rouge has always been an exception. And this absurdly good model by nottanj is just perfect.

And then the last one I'll preview is of the first model I ported from DAZ to Blender, and what gave me the idea to do the original 3D portal characters. One of my favorite MILFs that gets almost no love, Miyako from DOA.

3D Portal Characters -

And finally we have 3D portal characters! I was really happy this one not only passed, but was also pretty popular. So I thought I'd do a little bit of an intro for the character I've ported and will be in the game as a rare woman. I've also been working on making scenes for existing characters this week, so I have no new 2D character this week. Please keep in mind that you have to start the lab storyline before they'll start to appear in game!

I already showed Raven in the poll, but I have one other character ported.

Meet Aviva!

Aviva is one of the very first DAZ characters I ever made. So much so that I didn't think of a name for her and wasn't actually trying to make a character. I was just throwing stuff together while I learned how to use DAZ, and ended up liking the stuff I threw together. I just named the file after the name of her hair because I wasn't thinking of making characters or anything, and it just kind of got ingrained in my brain as her name. Much later, I creating a character for her and putting her into an idea.

Aviva is a jaded girl who is currently studying at the local University because she doesn't have anything better to do. She's basically always bored, but one of the few things she does enjoy is sex. So she'll be more than happy to take a break from studying when you approach her.

I originally was only going to do 5 of these if it passed, but since it go so many votes and it's clear that people are okay with 3D, I'll be doing more! I plan on doing the 10 I had put into the "would be nice" category. However, I've learned that when porting from DAZ to Blender, some things just don't really work and require a lot of extra work to get to look right. Some stuff just doesn't work at all and would require things like completely redoing UV and texture mapping (if you don't know what that is, don't worry about it, just know it can be a lot of work). If this happens, I'll be cutting them. Mainly because I don't want to be spending a lot of time on porting a character, since one of the reasons I'm doing these as 3D characters is to save time. I already have 7 picked out, with Raven and Aviva being two that were ported, and then the other 3 are going to be decided through a poll next month! Some options will be of characters that were planned for A Perfect Ten and others will be from another game idea.

I hope you look forward to seeing the 3D portal characters!

Collectables Rework/3D Collectable/Portals Release Date -

As for when all of this gets added, all I can really say is Soon™. I'm primarily focused on getting the content that was cut from v0.2.1 out before I do anything else.

I'm going to be reworking collectables when I include the 3D collectables. I want to change it so that you don't have to carry around the receipts to see the artwork anymore. I did it that way so you could see at a glance which ones you've unlocked already, but it makes the inventory a bit of a mess. I also need to rework it so that it doesn't have the name of the characters. That way for the Steam release, I can just replace the CG, instead of having to go back and edit every single collectable in game. Instead I'll be labeling them by a set number. I think it'll make a fun element of surprise too, since you wont know what you found until you go back to the gallery to check it out. I will be labeling which set number is which set on the signs in the actual gallery though. That way you can go check and see which set is which if you don't want the surprise. I also didn't do a very good job keeping track of what I was adding and where, so there ended up being a couple of duplicates, and at least one that I don't think is in the game anymore. So I'll be deleting all of the current spawns and redoing them.

When I do the rework, I'll be putting together a collectable guide for Waifu Fan and higher patrons, as well as as a bonus for people who donate at least $5 on Itch. That way I can properly keep track of where they all are, and can make it easier for people to find them. I generally don't like making guides for my own games, since I feel it kind of defeats the purpose, but I'm making an exception for collectables. Some are so well hidden that even I missed them, and it seems like a part of the game that a lot of people either don't know about or don't engage with too often. So I'm hoping having the guide push people to interact with the collectables more.

Anyway, it would be nice to include the rework in the v0.2.2 update, but like I mentioned above, it depends how long the new scenes take me. The next priority after including the cut content is doing more portals/rare women and then the collectables rework, in that order. Since as of v0.2.1, there's only one rare. I want to include more as quickly as possible. What will probably end up happening, is that v0.2.3 will be a sort of "3D update", that includes the first wave of the 3D content.

All Done -

As of now, v0.2.1 is officially out for Waifu Early Access supporters! So much was added with this update, and it really feels like it's moved out of the proof of concept stage and more into an alpha stage. Thank you everyone for your support so far! I'm not sure I would've had the motivation to keep working on the game without everyone's support!

If you'd like to play the game now, you can become a Waifu Early Access supporter.
If not, then next weekend, Sept 21st it will be releasing to Waifu WIP supporters.
Then Sept 25th for Waifu Fan supporters.
And it will be released to the public on Sept 28th.

Thank you again for everyone's support. Whether you play the game now or have to wait for public release, I hope everyone enjoys v0.2.1 and looks forward to all of this content being added in Soon™!
