Hey you,
I hope you are doing good! Today I am absolutely thrilled to share this very special interview with you!
Sarah, also known as DJ Dave, writes code to produce rave music. You might say, “Oh, I know that stuff: Algorave! That’s terrible rhythmic computer noise, unenjoyable for human beings”. I got you, really. But DJ Dave’s music could turn your view completely upside down. The level of her production is so high – it blew me away. I don’t want to brag, but I really know my way around electronic music. For over 15 years of my life, I’ve devoted a significant portion of my brain cells to producing and performing electronic music and its visual accompaniment.
I would like to express it in a very dramatic way and at the same time assure you that I am not exaggerating: Sarah has shifted this seemingly immovable pillar in my mind once and for all. I have learned that algorave is like the musical counterpart to what I have done with code so far, namely mainly visuals. It’s creative coding for a different sense, provided you don’t consider the code itself to be part of the artistic output. I am so grateful that Sarah has broadened my horizons. You can basically watch me live as the puzzle pieces fall into place in my head in this interview with Sarah.
Enjoy!
Warm greets,
Tim
