History of Paper... Music? Simple Gifts (and Bonus Track!)
Added 2016-10-20 04:59:25 +0000 UTCYou know that beautiful Shaker song being sung at the end of this Extra History series? Did you realize it's being sung by our very own Dean Kiner? Have we mentioned the Kiner Brothers are wildly talented?

Now, we usually just share the song that wound up being the final, official version... but... this time we had an early take that was just too good not to share. Dan was joking about how this theme should be literally made of money: coin percussions, dollar bills rustling, the works.
Next thing we know, Sean sends us this: https://www.patreon.com/file?h=7043244&i=628219

I would like to see a history of music. Like "why do we call it "classical" music when it's barely older than the US?" (the "classical" period is 1730-1820, 90 years. Rock is about 60 years old for comparison.

2016-10-20 19:33:02 +0000 UTCI was so disappointed that the series itself didn't have a mystery/sci-fi feel that would have made that piece work for it. I told them that it'd take something pretty great to distract me from my sadness over not being able to use the all money theme. So they made Simple Gifts and it was ALL GOOD.
