Byzantine Empire: Justinian and Theodora - Lies

I know this is coming criminally late, but is there any record of what happened to the executioner who botched the execution of those two leaders of the demes who served as the tinder of the Nika revolt?

Samson

Thank YOU for suggesting it and allowing us to do this series, Colin! I'm so glad it won; we had a great time making it, and I'm happy that you enjoyed it as much as you did! I'm sure we'll come back to it to finish the story in good time, too. ;)

Extra History

We have to start another! First Crusade is already on the docket! But we'll come back to it soon enough, I'm sure. :)

I think I tried ayran once while I was in turkey, but then I discovered sahlep and it was gg.

Extra History

Sorry I haven't been commenting lately, I've been super busy the past few weeks. That being said, this series was amazing! I'm so happy you guys were able to take my suggestion and you all did such an amazing job with it! I hope someone does suggest more topics having to do with Justinian's reign, because I would love to see even more on this topic from you guys! Anyway, I'm really looking forward to the new series starting next week! I can't wait! Again, thank you guys so much! You all are awesome!

Colin

Oh maaan... You have to finish this one before starting another! Don't leave us hanging!

ninja_padeiro

It is extremely amusing to me that while explaining that Arian does not equal Aryan, James misspells it (with his voice, that is...) "Ayran", which in today's Turkey is a popular yoghurt drink... I wonder who messed up James' scri- it was Walpole.

UBISOFT WHAT HAVE YOU DONE Oh, made more people interested in history and provided reasonably accurate, playable recreations of several classic cities? Okay then. I accept this.

Kitty grins are the best! Love that profile pic. :D

Arthur and Joseph have already touched on this, but I still wanted to hop in! As they already said, we have to choose topics several months in advance owing to the fact that it takes quite a while to produce these things. (Can you imagine if we made entire episodes in a week? ...Well, we do for Lies, and that's hard enough. The animated episodes would be impossible!) The current schedule is: First Crusade --> Admiral Yi --> Broad Street Pump And the next vote is coming up next week, so we'll pick the next subject soon!

Extra History

I think Dan and Carrie would die. ;)

Extra History

Yeah!

Very awesome video, and I don't mind the length one bit. It was fun seeing James so animated about everything. * Kitty Grin *

Just wanted to thank you both for the info. Can't wait to hear about the first crusades, particularly the epic battle between Altair and the Templars for the fate of the world. What's that? I'm fired as a patron? Yeah, that makes sense. I'll see myself out.

Nicholas Russell

Just to note, you have to be a $5+ member to vote on the next subject. I screwed that up myself.

Joseph Frank Perez

I second that :)

Tristan Murphy

First of all, just to be clear I'm not part of the EH staff. Now, that being said... the topics are decided a couple of months in advance, so they have time to work on them and get the series prepared. So if you only just became a patron - sorry, the next couple of topics are decided (If I recall correctly, The First Crusade, and then The Broad Street Pump). Fairly soon we should get a chance to vote on the topic that comes after that - they'll send out emails, and there'll be a post up here on the Patron feeds.

Nessf

Awesome video man. I'm always down for longer episodes myself so I appreciate the extra care you put into this one. I noticed you said the new series would focus on the first crusades. I didn't get an e-mail about voting for what would be next so I was wondering where I should go to do that. Thanks again for the episode and looking forward to the first episode.

Nicholas Russell

Damn can Belisarius get any cooler!

Farzad Mansouri

they are never too long, I would love like 1/2 hour+ lies episodes

Robert Pierce IV

Thank you :)
