Those are excellent tidbits, thanks Soraya! But seriously, if no one minds the episode lengths, and if James is happy to make the videos longer, I think he should go ahead :). Either way,do what you think is best.

Dan and Carrie stuck with it for a while, but I don't think they play anymore. :(

I always love the music during the Lies episodes. Brings back the feels from my old FFXI days. Do any of you guys still play XI or play XIV nowadays?

You fell into James's tangential learning trap! ;D But I'm glad you looked it up and enjoyed the story you found!

It's important not only for us to admit our mistakes, but for those who watch the videos to be aware that NO historian is infallible. We should always question our sources, no matter how much we like them!

Would it help if I threw some in here to sate your hunger? ;) We had a few stories about Dingiswayo that we had to cut due to lack of reliable sources, but: 1) he is rumored to have stolen a gun from a (dead?) European and used to take control of the Mtethwa tribe. 2) After Dingiswayo's assassination, Zwide placed his skull on the hut his mother lived in (alongside other trophies) which may explain why Shaka was so merciless about burning it (and her) to the ground.
Like I said: poorly sourced, didn't make it into Lies... so while I hope you enjoy the stories, don't take them as gospel truth! -Soraya

I too would like to encourage James to ramble on with his bonus facts and thoughts until he's satisfied. Time limits be damned.

I looked up for the "bishop" turned by the zulus (in the cool Bonaparte quote James mentioned). Actually this guy, John Colenso, has a pretty interesting story:

I simply loved the trivia about the Bonaparte dinasty dying out by Zulu hands!

Yeah, James should just go as "overboard" as he wants! One day we will get a glorious 45-minute Lies episode where he just talks about as much History as he wants to, though he'd probably still not have enough time to fit everything in haha. The passion and knowledge of this team is what makes me love this show.

I wouldn't mind more tidbits from history in the "lies" episode.
