April Update

Hello everyone, it's time for an update.

This will be a short summary of what's happened and what is to come for the remaining weeks of April. 

There is quite a bit to go through, so please take some time to read or let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

TLDR;
- Rough start to the month, sad event, took a few weeks off
- Current Variety comic complete, available for download in Archive and on Gumroad
- Next Comic, Perverted 2! Follow-up post coming for feedback
- Status of Patron Rewards and coming up with a plan to ensure people get what they are owed.
- Visual Novel game development and crunch time. Getting a game out by July

Start of April, Bad Times (CW; Pet Passing, please skip if you do not wish to read)

A lot happened at the start of the month and it was a rough and stressful time. On Saturday, April 3, I started to stream my commissions for March's rewards, which I was already behind on.

 Shortly after starting, my cat Pellet was having some issues related to his diabetes. Took him to the emergency vet where he was stabilized over the weekend. However, he needed to be taken to a specialist the following Monday, which I did immediately. Over the following week, he was being treated and seemed to be doing much better.  I was able to bring him home after a few days on Friday, April 9.

Later that evening and early morning he was not doing well at all. We rushed him back Saturday morning. After a little bit of time and examination, my wife and I had to make a difficult choice and proceeded to say our goodbyes. He was 12 years old and was a great friend.

The past week from April 11-current, my wife and I have been grieving and managing to get back to a place of normalcy as best we can. Luckily, we have good friends to keep us company. 

I am starting back to work today and will be doing my best to make up for the lost time. I appreciate everyone's patience and thank you for the support.

Moving Forward - Substantial Comic Complete

The current Variety comic 'Substantial' just wrapped up and has been put into the Members Archive for download as a PDF file. It is also available for purchase on my Gumroad.com/Dsan store for $5.

The comic will stay up in the Variety Comic Page for one more week, and password access will be sent after this post and on Monday.

I will make a print version a little bit later.

Next Comic - Perverted 2!

Going to make a sequel to Perverted, continuing the adventures of Alana the perv. I will be making a separate post asking for input and feedback on the comic's direction for this one. I will be involving new characters and situation this time around should be a lot of fun!

Rewards - Overdue and Catching Up

I am VERY behind on rewards for the higher tiers, there is a lot that needs to be done and I will need to make a solid plan for how to handle it all.

So far, I need to complete February, March, and April rewards. On average, it usually takes me 3 days to complete the 20 commissions for each month, however with the amount that needs to be done, I'm not sure that can manage it all in the remaining weeks.

I will think about what I need to do and reach out to all the higher tiers and offer whatever solution I manage to come up with, a bit later. Possibly refunds if it comes down to it and I am able.

I will try to get April's rewards done this month for sure since we have some newcomers that just joined. This is not normally the case with how this campaign works, but circumstances have left things unorganized and I apologize for any confusion.

Other Projects - Visual Novel Development

One of the big factors in my workload is my upcoming Visual Novel Sequoia State, the collab with Hizzacked presented by Kupaa Networks.

The game is projected to come out this July on Steam and I need to get a move-on with finishing development. This is one of the reasons why Cup O' Love has been on hiatus and why the commission rewards are tricky to do right now as well.

Finishing this game is extremely important for me and having it do well will greatly improve things overall for my work and my life. I'm not putting all my eggs in one basket or anything, but definitely investing as much time as I can to getting it done.

I want to get to a point where I can just work on game stuff and comics eventually, bringing Cup O' Love back from hiatus and presenting more and interesting stories for you all.
