Heyya everyone!
Some of you might already know that recently, I've built a web-app called Tileable.Tools, which lets you generate infinite amounts of various tileable geometric textures. So, even the fact that its completely free, obviously I wanted to promote it. So – here I made myself a spec(ish) project haha. And to be honest, majority of my freelance projects where about software, not physical things. So today we are creating these 3 scenes – pyro, flip&morph and the reveal where all of the tiles get aligned in a nice stack. The main idea of this pack of tutorials is to show you that Houdini is equally cool for simulations and keyframe animations and even if you are not yet super confident with all the different solvers, you still can do cool stuff with keyframes and few other tricks ;)
Enjoy!

Getting back to the frequency! This tutorial is an interesting combination of POP Forces (curve force) which is accompanied by dynamic constraints. This combo makes it swirl as it flies up to the curve and then it lands softly in a perfect stack. I'm sure you will learn lots of cool tricks with this one, regardless of your Houdini level ;)
Have fun!

I took a whole month off, honestly it was much needed. Although dozens of your positive comments fuel me to make these tutorials, I felt burned out at some point. I took this time to rethink my path and future, my ongoing and future projects. Things change, things will change, but heres what stays – tutorials :)
I know we have guys who just opened Houdini yesterday here, and we have technical guys from world-known studios. Pardon me, this one is aimed more at first group haha. I'm gently easing back to work, but I promise next setup will be quite unique, so stay tuned. But for now, this might be the perfect tutorial to start your journey to conquering RBDs, so have fun!
And here are the project files!
Note: As I told in the video, i'm not using GSG texture in my renders, and I cannot include them, so there is not bottle, aluminum, concrete and sticker roughness maps for this tutorial.
Heyyya guys!
Today we will create this fun little effect of placing vinyl stickers on the object. Pretty versatile setup – render them flying towards the object and sticking, or just like i did here – use AE for some kinda–interactive animation :) Works with any object so have fun and grab yourself a pack of stickeeeees (free)

Heyya guys!
In this tutorial we are combining Chain SOP & Retimed Animations (animated geo baked as .abc) to achieve a morphing effect, but as you might already see – its different for each object. Also - full control over the point where it happens :) Get creative and enjoy!
P.S. To save time i did a breakdown for the modelling part (I encourage you to come up with your own objects and cool animation for them) and then we build the chain and retiming setup step-by step!

Today we are creating a setup requested in our cozyplace discord channel! This setup was requested by Shriyash and inspired by super talented artist Wes Cream.
This one will require you some basic knowledge of Vex as its the main driver of the dynamic scaling, but I really did my best to break it down and explained in the most beginner friendly way. This setup itself is super versatile, you can scale whatever things you imagine, so get creative!

Today we are diving in to animating packed primitive attributes, so prepare yourself for some VEX driven stuff. Don't stress, its nothing complex and I really spent time explaining how it works, so even if you are a beginner – this tutorial is perfect to dial into the packed prim attributes.
NOTE: Please ignore matrixes in VEX seen on 5:06, i went with different approach and somehow forgot to delete them. Sorry for the confusion.
Enjoy!

Today we are taking a look at the very interesting and often overlooked set of parameters Houdini RBD setup gives us – Impacts. In this tutorial we will create an Constrains setup for these cute keycaps or whatever they are, but most importantly we will create a quite complex (go as complex as you want tho), attribute manipulation setup, involving fades, transfers, copies and much more.
This one is not the most beginner friendly tutorial, so I suggest tackling it when you have some experience already!
Also be sure to check Terranimator's channel on YT, I always come back to his Attribute Transfer in Solver method which came really handy in this setup too!

Heyya guys!
Here is the final missing bit to complete our Travel Bottle Commercial!
This tutorial features 3 scenes – Main podium scene, fire storm effect and IR Smoke sim, so everyone of you can find something interesting and new in this tut, whether you are a beginner or intermediate Houdini artist.
Enjoy!

I know i know thats a lot haha.
Well, heres a setup that utilises 3 solvers, SOP, Vellum, and Ripple (did we check Ripple Solver before?) in order to bring the distance attribute from Vellum Objects to Grid and based on that attribute we do LOTS things. Extruding, transforming, using for shaders – you name it!
Check it out!
P.S. For anyone waiting for the last part of the Bottle Commercial project – its coming next week, I just wanted to take a little break from that project and create something more abstract.

Hey guys! I know its not in order, but i thought to share this icy scene first and then combine fire and that podium x-ray scene together in one tutorial, and as this scene is a bit more complex – i decided lets build it first.
Hope you'll enjoy it!

Heyya guys!
In this 3rd scene of our full scale project tutorial we will explore some nice advected sand motion. This time we are not using grains, but MPM! Sim was super fast, but partially because we will do one little trick that will allow us to sim a lot less points that we see in the scene, but nevertheless get this beautiful result :)
Enjoy!

Heyya guys!
Here we have the first tutorial of this project, featuring first and second scenes. I've combined them because first one is basically a bottle with a cap that screws on top of it, so I just briefly talk about how I modelled the bottle and my light setup, but second scene is that nice slow-mo rbd sim, which of course we build from scratch.
Enjoy!
P.S. also, due to personal reasons, as of now all of my tuts will be stored here, not on YT.

Need to comp the proj and will be recording on weekend!

heya guys! I thought we haven't made a full scale project in a while, so guess whats coming? Can't share much as I haven't finished it yet, but I'm pretty excited how things are going. Have a little bit of everything – MPM, RBD, FLIP, Compositing, etc; that we will be learning in February, so buckle up, first part is coming soon :)
