Sorry for the late reply, but you explained that perfectly. Kakashi was affected a lot due to his father's actions. Obito really changed him. The symbolism with his father's blade was perfect.
Damn it's so sad to know why Kakashi is always late. Many characters in this anime have sad backstories, man..

Ngl this episode made me cry the first time lol (when Obito was dying). After this we knew how Kakashi got his sharingan, why he's always late (visiting grave/memorial site, and emulating Obito's behaviour of being late), and also why he taught team 7 to prioritize teammates over the shinobi rules.
Also Kakashi's backstory about his father, and how he thought he was a bad example/ bad role model, until Obito changed his views. I think Kakashi kept his father's blade on missions as a reminder to himself to never do the same thing as his father. It was like a trauma to him, carrying around the weight that his father a bad person for the village. But it broke at a fitting time in this episode, symbolising that the mental weight he was carrying is now broken. He see's his father now as a hero and a role model to be followed.
