2025-03-28 23:41:03 +0000 UTCTrunks’ form is anime-only. This form never happens in Toriyama’s actual plot of the story, and never in the manga. It’s something Toei added, for seemingly no reason. Either way, I think some people’s hatred towards it is so forced. Just because it came out of nowhere doesn’t mean it’s suddenly a plague on the story. Since it’s never part of the actual arc outline, it’s inconsequential at most, so it doesn’t bother me that much. Either way, influence from people like Akio Iyoku has been leading to Toriyama’s modern writing, in general, often introducing forms out of nowhere, so Super Saiyan Rage isn’t all that egregious to me anymore (although this time it was Toei’s doing, not Toriyama’s).
