And not to mention the fact, she REALLY believes she is the daughter of the man who defeated Cell so that def added to her stubborness. She HAS changed a lot though so far in the series and has became a lot more cool since she had the pigtails lol so cut her some slack.

But yeah, after Yolked roid man snapped his neck back into place, its too bad Videl couldn't see further than her pride. In fact, her personality is the reason why she wouldn't be able to befriend a certain someone later on, but her father could.
