They didn’t find her body, but they cleaned up her statue. That place, where Catra and Adora could say their goodbyes to her, became a space for reflection and mourning. I’ve always wondered what thoughts crossed their minds in those moments, their internal conflicts. Did they truly forgive her? Do they miss her, despite everything? Do they understand why she sacrificed herself? Does she deserve redemption after all she did?
Shadow Weaver was a complex figure. Proud until the end, though I can’t help but wonder if her words were sincere or if the wine she drank before influenced her behavior...😑 (We all saw her pour that glass just before her final act)
For so long, she was cruel, manipulative, and abusive. Yet, at the same time, she was the only mother figure Catra and Adora ever knew. How do you reconcile that? Their relationship with her wasn’t simple; it was stained with pain and resentment, but also with a strange form of need and dependency.
It’s complicated. Sometimes, the bonds we have with those who hurt us are the hardest to break.
