The Enchanted Gift

Snow fell softly as Ethan strolled through the bustling Christmas market, his hands stuffed into his jacket pockets to keep warm. Every stall twinkled with fairy lights, and the air was filled with the scent of roasted chestnuts and cinnamon. He wasn’t exactly sure what he was looking for, but he was determined to find the perfect gift for his girlfriend, Lila.

As he wandered past a stall selling knitted scarves, something caught his eye—a small booth tucked in the corner, shrouded in shadows and garland. The sign above it read “Curiosities & Oddities.”

Curious, Ethan stepped closer. An old man with silver hair and sharp, knowing eyes greeted him with a faint smile.

“Looking for something special?” the man asked, his voice deep and gravelly.

“Yeah,” Ethan replied, rubbing the back of his neck. “A Christmas gift for my girlfriend. Something unique.”

The man nodded knowingly and reached under the counter, pulling out a wooden box. It was intricately carved with swirling patterns that seemed to shimmer under the faint light. “This,” the man said, “is Eldoria, an enchanted board game. It’s one of a kind.”

Ethan raised an eyebrow. “Enchanted?”

The man leaned closer. “This game is unlike any other. It adapts to the players, bringing their imaginations to life. But be warned—it’s not for the faint of heart.”

Ethan chuckled, assuming the warning was part of the sales pitch. Lily loved games, especially ones with a touch of mystery. “How much?” he asked.

The old man smiled faintly. “Consider it...a gift. But remember, it must be played with honesty and care.”

Ethan hesitated but ultimately accepted the box. It was free, after all. “Thanks,” he said, tucking it under his arm and heading back into the festive crowd.

On Christmas morning, Lily's eyes lit up as she unwrapped the game. “Eldoria?” she read aloud, running her fingers over the carvings. “This is gorgeous! Where did you find it?”

“Some little booth at the market,” Ethan said. “The guy said it’s enchanted. Supposedly, it adapts to us as we play.”

Lily’s eyes sparkled with excitement. “That is ... quite spooky, no? Ahhh, let’s try it!”

They set the game on the coffee table and lifted the lid. Inside were a set of dice, a deck of cards, and tiny figurines that looked eerily like themselves. The board was blank at first, but as Lily tumbled the dice in her hand, it began to change.

The two figurines arranged themselves at what appeared to be the starting point on the board.

Ethan and Lily exchanged wide-eyed glances. “Okay, this is...cool,” Ethan said.

"Do you know what we're meant to do or how it's played?" Lily asked, inspecting the die.

"Uh..." Ethan began, "I think the board is telling us." He pointed as the top card of the deck flipped itself over. "Truth or dare?" Ethan read aloud. "This... is truth or dare?! That's kind of lame..." He frowned.

As if in response to the disappointment, the top card flipped.

"It says 'Ethan, truth or dare'." Lily looked up wide eyed. "I mean, even if it only turned out to be truth or dare, it's wild that it can do this... no? I mean, what level of technology does this board include? Cameras, microphones..." Her sentence trailed off as she examined the box cover.

"Truth." Ethan mumbled as he watched Lily. "I'm really sorry that this wasn't what I thought it would be."

Lily let out a loud belly laugh. "What?! What even is this?" She was doubled over, grabbing at her sides as she laughed at what was written on the card face.

"What the..." Ethan looked from Lily to the card. He was a bit flustered by the words. Yes, he was hoping to get lucky tonight. In fact, he was hoping his gift would spark uncharted desire in Lily given his thoughtfulness when having selected her gift. "No." He said in protest. He opened his mouth to say something to Lily when the card ominously turned to the side. The ink began to run and fade. The words and image transformed into just one single statement "Lie".

Lily's eyes darted from the card to Ethan. "A lie, huh?" She smirked teasingly. "Is someone ly--" Lily stopped mid-sentence, her eyes clouding over and her head lulling to the side.

"Lily? Lily?!" Ethan tried to scramble up from the table, but he found he was frozen in place.  "Lily! Are you okay? Answer me!" His heart was racing, his knuckles whitening as he gripped the table, trying to lift himself.

After what felt like hours, Lily lifted her head. She appeared to be looking less at Ethan and more through Ethan. Her eyes were a swirling silver haze.

"Lily? Baby?"

Lily's eyes met Ethan's and she smiled seductively. Without breaking eye contact, she slid one hand across her torso, skating her polished fingers across her ribcage and resting on her breast. With the other, she trailed downwards. Her lips slightly parted as she began to very subtly writhe in her seat.

"L-Lily!?" Ethan was watching in horny horror as Lily touched herself for him. Her eye contact remained unbroken and he remained unable to move. He could feel his cock hardening, uncomfortably pressing against the zipper of his jeans. "Fuck..." He groaned through gritted teeth. "What is this game?"

Lily's eyes closed and her head fell forward. Ethan watched on, heart pounding, waiting for her to move again.

"Lily?" He nearly whispered.

Lily's head lifted and her green eyes searched his. "Yes?" She asked, unfazed.
