Polls and Viruses

First off, some lighthearted stuff: I'm gonna try something new with this next round of polls. You've probably already seen it, but the options are more limited this time as well as being randomized. It has been hard to 'balance' the polls so far. I noticed that the results each week were almost always the same, or at least the same options had the most votes. I was concerned that it would mean the same options get picked every time, but someone mentioned that its basically what everyone wants to see, so I've left the polls alone. I mean, you are voting for what you want to see!

Recently someone else mentioned that the same concern that I originally had and there was a lack in variety. I definitely don't want to micro manage the polls, but I'm still trying to find the best solution for everyone.

Right now, my plan is this: keep the first monthly polls the same. All the options I can think of are available to pick. The second monthly poll I would be more specific. For instance, I may choose prey that I'd like to see, or I may put a bunch of options in a list and randomly pick the choices for the poll (I did that this time around).

What are your thoughts on the polls? Any ideas on keeping them both free and varied?

The next part: this coronavirus.

No, I don't have it (more on that later though), so that's the good news. The bad news is I work in retail at Best Buy, and I am very concerned with my schedule. I need to talk to someone about it, but all of my planned shifts were removed for next week. As much as I'd like to stay home, I have 3 big bills I need to pay: school, car, and credit card. My Patreon income helps pay for my render engine and Adobe suite, as well as lets me buy a new model (or 5) when I want to. But currently Patreon and Gumroad won't cover everything, and I don't expect it to. Even with Patreon, Gumroad, and my normal paycheck, I am just barely getting by. I haven't been able to add to my savings for several months now. If I lose too many hours, or worse, get laid off from this, it is going to be rough. I don't have a backup plan, which is making me nervous.

I am concerned that I'll get the virus; being in retail means dealing with customers who may have it. And if my parents get it, there is a pretty good chance they wouldn't survive it. I'd love to stay home, but there's the money issue.

Secondly though, I actually wonder if I already had it months ago. In...mid to late January I was sick for 2 to 3 weeks. I had a fever for several days, a cough that literally wouldn't stop, and some days had migraines and sinus pressure. I coughed so much that my throat swelled up. I could breathe and swallow, but I could not burp. Literally the gas was trapped in my neck. I couldn't talk without coughing. After about a week and a half the fever, headaches, and sinus pressure went away, though my throat felt like it had a scar.

I honestly hope it was coronavirus, then I won't get it again. Still, I am washing my hands and staying home as much as possible in case that wasn't it.

We'll see what my schedule is. If it is bleak, I'll be finding ways to earn a bit more money from home. I may try game streams if my free time allows for it.

In the mean time, stay healthy. Predators prefer non-sick lunches!
