Clarissa's Roommate Part 10B: What does she do?

Art Practice - AKA actually doing art, as opposed to art history. Turns out UCB has a well regarded art department, although I kind of feel like there are other schools that specialize in art that would be a more likely choice. On the other hand, life drawing practice is a great excuse to have all your friends take their clothes off, on the other, other hand you can take the classes while majoring in something else (which is what Clarissa does). But that's three hands, which is one too many.

Astronomy/Astrophysics - since it looks like her name is Astrid, she would be Astrid the Astronomer, which sounds like a fun kids' show, if we ignore the fact that the first question we settled about the protagonist was "busty or perky?". In the Narrative present she is presumably getting a grad degree, since there aren't really entry level Astronomy jobs. She might have an internship at the ESA though.

Biology - specifically marine biology, so she can play with sea lions and wear a wetsuit. Once again she'd be getting a grad degree in the present, because they don't let you biologize professionally without one.

Chemistry - I knew so many people who started as Chem/O-chem/Chem-E majors and couldn't make it past this one Statistics class - strangely enough, a number of them are now lawyers. Anyway, she's studying chemistry so she can help out in the family distilling business. In the narrative present she'd be inventing new and better alcohol.

History - Medieval history, actually, although the History major requires you to generalize a bit before settling on a thesis area. Miyuki majored in history as a way to shoehorn discussion about swords into school to make it more interesting, maybe Astrid is up to the same thing. So they sit there at the dining commons, just talking about swords. In the present - I can tell you from experience that a History degree can get you into lots of industries, and none of them are necessarily history. But for the sake of argument maybe she's one of the experts movies hire to make things seem properly historical.

Throwing in some additional options of my own:

Archaeology - She can hang out with Clarissa and they can dig things up together! They can bother mummies together, unearth sinister idols together, get captured by a cult and tied naked to a creepy green marble obelisk together... good times. She might get a job with Interpol helping stop the traffic in stolen antiques, just so she has a slightly different career track than Clarissa.

Materials Science/Industrial Engineering - Astrid is studying advanced polymers and lightweight materials to help design the most advanced lingerie known to womankind (which her friends must test drive, of course). After graduating she'd get a job in Paris with other top underwear scientists.

Music - we don't really have a musician character yet. Once again there are specialized music schools out there, but UCB has a music major. After graduating she'd play in a symphony.

Incidentally, there is a Scandinavian Studies major, which would be kind of hilarious, but I won't include it here.
