I think this was the episode I became Team Black. I do understand Alicent to a point. When Rhaenyra lied to her about sleeping with Cole, she felt betrayed. I kind of think she had this idea in her head (as the rule-follower) that the two of them would do their duty, and then remain best friends, living like good little women, but being able to commiserate in a way over their destinies. Rhaenyra was having none of that. She is willful and determined (not the rule-follower). To me Alicent is mad still because although Rhaenyra married the person she was told to marry and is having kids, she is doing it through infidelity. Then add in Alicent trying to have her son be the heir, while Rhaenyra has actually been named heir just adds fuel to her fire. "Oh, what a tangled web we weave..." Also, Larys is just "shivers" 🤢 ick!

2025-03-04 22:58:50 +0000 UTCThis episode really kicks off running and doesn't stop until the credits 😂 The first 5 episodes were almost a prequel to the main story that's about to start unfolding. Rhaenyra may not have wanted to be a mother when she was younger but she clearly loves and adores her kids, which is a stark contrast to the way Alicent treats her own children. Laena rides Vhagar - a dragon she talked about when she was little and being pushed to marry the king. She mentioned how Vhagar was old and hiding away but clearly Laena figured out where she was and claimed her as a rider, which is pretty badass. If you're gonna claim a dragon, might as well make it the oldest and biggest one lol Larys gives me the creeps. He clearly had no love for his brother or his father if he was so willing to have them killed. He's dangerous and Alicent didn't realize just how far he was willing to go to please her. Now she's stuck with him. Things are gonna get even more interesting 👀
