Hogwarts legacy inspired moving eye chest

DOWNLOAD at the end of the post

It's no secret I love wizarding world stuff. So when I was working on the moving eye mechanism, it was just a matter of time until I applied that design to the Hogwarts Legacy moving eyeball chest :)

In case you haven't played the game , I definitely recommend it , and for those who don't know, the eyeball chest in the game is a "treasure" chest that tracks your movement when you come close to it , so that is perfect for the moving eye :)

BATTERY:
One thing that is changed is the battery ( i always try to find something that is as simple to use as possible) , so this , by default, time it uses 4 AAA batteries with a on/off switch that you can buy so it makes your life easier ( check the product in the links included)

and

PARTS DIFFERENCE:
the difference in the design is the "Box 1 A" and " H 2 B " - those had to be change in order to fit the eye opening at the top of the chest

you will also notice the design of the eye on the treasure chest is a bit adjusted so it can fit the electronics, so it's not a 100% accurate design as in the game, as i needed to make some changes to make it work in real life, so i can only call it Hogwarts legacy inspired :)

MULTICOLOR PRINT:
The chest is rather detailed so you will have 3 options to print it in - 2 options of multicolor print if you have a system like AMS , or the good old 1 color print and paint in post process. Check the attached photo for more :)

You will notice there is no motion sensor slot, at the moment i just couldn't find any room for the sensor, but i do plan to revisit this, maybe make an additional stand or something to include the sensor, but the easy on/off button access at the bottom will make it super simple to use without the motion sensor as well.

I use the arduino nano board. It is possible to use other boards but it is also possible you will haveto chsnge the code due to pin layout - sadly if its a board i dont use i will not be able to help with the code adjustments :/

Do you know if I could use the Arduino Every or the Arduino 340 for this build, instead of the Arduino Nano classic? They are signifigantly cheaper than the Nano Classic.

Hogwarts is cool and all but I think this would have been better as a Mimic Chest from D&D

its gst3d marble filament :)

Marko Makaj

Great work! What kind of filament did you use for the marble-effect?

Mike Stierle

Thank you, glad you like it :) there will be more :D

Marko Makaj

Love it! Keep up the one of a kind stuff. Thats why I’m here. ;) Any chance of more wands at some point? I saw you mention somewhere that you want to make more at some point. Not enough hours in the day I know. ;)

Amazing! Love the HP stuff! Putting this on tonight. Just finished the hocus pocus spellbook and bought extra for this after seeing the wire frame post!
