Wolverine claws_how it works and files ready for download

Here it is guys :) the moment you've been waiting for

Files, links, tutorial, all of available to "we are makers" tier members

I'll do just a quick recap, everything can be seen in the videos and "build guide" folder in the patreon in much much more detail

I've also added some "moves", can't wait for you to print your own and come up with some other moves so we can make a little trend out of it :D

Included:
- functional wolverine claws ( standalone version that can be fit under a shirt, foam gauntlet or 3d printed gauntlet) - left and right
- 3d printed gauntlet - full disclosure - the gauntlet is by no means screen accurate, as i had to change quite some stuff to make it work with the mechanism, the projects here is not screen accurate prop, its functional wolverine claws :)
- stl files
- 3 mf files
- video tutorial on how the prop works
- build guide folder with hardware parts links and step by step assembly of the prop

If you get stuck, let me know, but I did my best to explain everything in full detail :)

Printed these at 70% for my 10yr old son. Everything came out great and still worked just fine!!!

Brenden

Hi! I joined the "We Are Makers" tier but I am having trouble finding the claws. I don't see them in the September drive folder?

Stark 3D

Fingers crossed you figure a way to make it work and look right. Looking forward to it though if you do. Would be great to go with the biomask

TheStormLord

Marko Makaj

5mm dismeter x 2mm thickness,forgot to add it to the folder :D

Marko Makaj

Hey, what magnets do you recommend for the gauntlet? Thanks! 😁

Harry Barham

Super easy to print! Fantastic!

Hector K. Paredes

I’m excited to give it a go. Have you considered doing a predator wristblade with this sort of mechanism?

TheStormLord

What is the best way to tie the elastic loops? I'm having trouble keeping everything tight.

Willis Meekins

its best to check my 3mf file, it has rotation, support, all info included, but the way it is designed it does not need any supports :)

Marko Makaj

Okay. I’ll give that a go. Thank you.

Elias

Print it flat on the plate. The bridging is really small, so i didn't get any drooping inside.

Erik Johnson

These are my favorite models yet. So when it came to printing them out. What was your orientation for the claw sheaths? did you use supports? I tried two attempts printed vertically because I didn’t want to deal with support internally in the blade tubes which I think would have happed if I printed horizontally. 1st vertical attempts failed. Thanks, would love to know all your printing best practices.

Elias

I already became a Patreon member but I can't find the download link. Can someone guide me?

arcade cordoba

Angel

Downscale yes, just not sure how much, didnt test it. Paint- it should also work but i didnt test that

Marko Makaj

2 tolerance questions. Can it be scaled down and function the same ? Can the claws be painted and still function?

Angel

Well done mark all that needs is a way to retract two leaving one lol

RossReplica

Firing up the printer today!

Corey Mccall

watched the video but seen nothing but ye i see now that ive opened files lol

Trust me ive went thru all sorts of iterations to be able to simplify it down to where it is now :) your suggestion would make it smoother, sure, but also more dificult to build, break apart, assamble, it would be it thicker, peoole would need extra hardware parts, and we need to incorporate acces to hardware into the design to make it usable in the long run, so overall more bulky. In my opinion it just isnt worth it to overcomplicate it to get a smidge of diference. Ive noticed with all the "electeonics build", they are so complicated people immidiatelly give up when they see only a part of complication, i wanted this to be aa easy as it gets and it is the easiest to work with mechanism in the world. Now that ive made this im aure people will work on it in all sorts of way :)

Marko Makaj

Let's fucking go!

Vince King

Wow man that’s great!! Only suggestion is, assuming there’s a track of sorts that the blades slide on.. would seem that if there was a ball bearing race attached to a T track, might give a more smooth and firm extract/retraction.. as well I’d wonder how difficult to making them motorized with a linear servo… that can control speed of/ and extraction length (1/4, 1/2. 3/4, full ) extraction that’d be sweet to But overall, Wow You!!!! U always make great stuff

Drue

Insanity!! This is amazing

Andrew Sheffield

These are awesome! Thank you! Can't wait to print them!

Juan Colon

soooo you didnt watch the video or read my post ? :D or open the folder ? :D
