State of the Skeleton 7/11-7/15: Thanks for continuing the joke!
Added 2022-07-15 23:47:26 +0000 UTCHowdy, Grace here! This week was overshadowed in my mind by a Reggie Fils-aimé sighting, but we also managed to get other stuff done too. Next video is VERY close!
7/11 Monday
Podcast recording today! Had a great time chatting about Ristar and Klonoa of all things. It’s always such a blur. Monday is usually a big planning day but because I was still feeling out of commission after last week, we each spent some time fiddling with our own projects.
7/12 Tuesday
Today I wrapped up a sponsored spot for the upcoming video while Derek worked on Crash Bandikart. I think he's finished the intro for script, so all that's left is plugging in the things that are already written. Hoping to have that script finished next week.
Sober got us a new cut of the Konami video, so we spent the end of the day reviewing that, mapping what else needed to be done, and downloading all of the edit materials. We’re nearing the finish line!
7/13 Wednesday
While I swear work was done today, the most exciting event of the day was attending Reggie Fils-aimé’s talk about his new book, Disrupting the Game. He was so generous with his time, and was willing to take our Q&As and autograph copies of his book.... But Derek managed to sneak in something extra. Overall an extremely pleasant experience. (For those keeping track: despite his retirement Reggie Fils-aimé continues to not announce Mother 3.)
Afterwards we managed to meet up with Nintendo Life Senior Video Producer, Zion Grassel, who recently asked Derek to be a part of Nintendo Life’s The Mother We Share Earthbound documentary.
7/14 Thursday
Derek was able to start tidying up the Konami edit today. The editor of this video uses an older version of Adobe Premiere, so it took a few hours to get everything into its proper place. It was also time to fill out some of the video with live shots, so we took a field trip to some local thrift stores for inspiration. The plan was to snag a VHS copy of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, but we ended up finding an unusual haul of games instead. Games that we’d had on our bucket list for various video ideas!
One of these is an Xbox Live Arcade disc for the original Xbox. I actually first heard about this via a question emailed into our podcast several weeks ago, and was SHOCKED to find one in the wild. Apparently there were only three ways to obtain this back in the day: through Microsoft’s website, a special issue of Official Xbox Magazine or as a part of the Forza Motorsport console bundle. Looking forward to digging into this weird relic/Ms. Pac-Man delivery device!
7/15 Friday
Today Derek is working on finalizing the Konami Brawlers edit! He gave me an estimate of Saturday/Sunday for the final video, so keep your peepers peeled this weekend! To prepare, I’ll get started on the thumbnail and other pre-posting duties.
While we didn’t find any TMNT VHS’s, I ended up being pretty happy with round three of liveshots for this project. Derek and I have a tendency to get bogged down with details that we forgot we need to actually SHOW the physical box that holds these Delisted games on it. D’oh!
Thanks for the support and see you next week!
Grace

2022-07-25 17:36:13 +0000 UTCI have an Xbox Arcade disc that I got from Best Buy years ago, but its a bit different than the one you guys found. It has Ms Pac Man on the left side and a Namco logo.
