Podcast Recording Moved to Tomorrow 4pm PT

Hey-Hey Skelefriends!

It’s the first Monday of the month and you know what that means?? Podcast time! Except we’re moving it to tomorrow. We have family flying in and picking them up from the airport and all other kinds of excitement is going to take up the afternoon. But we’ll be back same time tomorrow, 4pm PT.

But get your questions in now if you’d like! Talk to you then, stay powerful!

Loved the accessories video! As a proud supporter of Pole Caliber (Soulcalibur on the Dreamcast with the fishing rod), it broke my heart to see your broken rod. Are there any accessories you are still searching for to add to your collection? And what is the craziest accessory you have seen that you don't yet own?

Derek; Have you ever thought about your influence on video games YouTube or video game discourse as a whole? Personally, you have made an immense impact on me when I found HVGN in my early teen years; you helped shape my tastes and how I view games today. Do you think the community (or more specifically, the retro community) would have been different if you weren't there at its genesis?

A couple YouTubers have been discussing this lately and I wanted your opinion on it. How do you feel about retro gaming stores, either brick and mortar or on ebay/OfferUp/Mercari etc., selling reproductions cartridges of games? Maybe I own an original copy of Panzer Dragoon Saga but don't want to use it for fear of damaging such an expensive piece of my collection, seems like an instance where it could be justified.

Hi Derek and Grace! (SORRY FOR THE LONG A** RANT/QUESTION) Physically pirated video games is more or less a thing of the past nowadays. What's your guys' relationship with pirated video games growing up? As a young kid in Sweden, I grew up poor (with five siblings), and I rarely had money to buy video games... BUT, I had a modded PS1! I also had friends who were willing to give me copies of games burned on CD-R's, and that's mostly how I got to experience new games growing up until I got a job, moved out and had money of my own to spend on things. People in North America seem to have rented a lot of games growing up, but that was never really a thing around where I grew up (I can't speak for other Swedish cities though). Maybe it's because I grew up the way I did that I ended up buying and collection A LOT of video games later in life?
