Well, I believe I am going to embark on an Ys adventure now.. Trails is to large and daunting right now but will keep it as an option in my back pocket. Thanks for you input.

2021-10-06 20:57:15 +0000 UTCYs is connected somewhat, but it's not essential to play in any particular order. Trails is the series that is very interconnected and it is best to play in order. Ys respects your time more as older entries are usually under 10 hrs. However, newer ones are more typical jrpg length (40-60). Trails games are obviously much longer due to the immense amount of text. I understand the whole time thing, but if you're genuinely interested, you can make the time as long as you schedule it out!

2021-10-05 13:48:27 +0000 UTCI have recently been interested in both the Trails and Ys games but honestly they seem daunting with how many are in the series. Through research (please feel free to correct me) it looks like the are all connected and my OCD mind makes me feel like I have to start from the beginning. As a 36 year old full time government contractor and part time reservist, I just don't think I have the time to take on such large series. That being said, I did pick up Ys Origins as it does seem like they are individual stories that mostly just share the same characters and can be played somewhat independently (I understand that Origins is also a prequel set many years prior).

If you guys got stranded on a deserted island, which one of these fantastic inovations in video game history would you choose to share as your only means of gaming? A small collection of random Tiger Electronic LCD games, a Game.com or a Zeebo (these would also only come with a small collection of random games)? You need to agree on one of these three!
