Update for SSFF March NGage Videos

Hello Skele-fam!

We took a poll last week for this month's videos and the Ngage content won by a landslide! This will see the return of Past Mortem which has been on hiatus since the Kinect video in December 2019! We are so excited to be working on another one of these! And of course we need to have a companion Punching Weight episode covering the games. It's gonna be an exciting one-two punch! Exactly the type of content we love making and what yall expect from SSFF.

But we're met with a small problem here - this Past Mortem is gonna be a beast of a video, which creates an issue with our upload schedule. Like all Past Mortems, this is gonna be a research-intensive project and I just cannot allow us to rush the scripting and editing. And for the companion Punching Weight video, it makes the most sense to release it after the Past Mortem. So we can't really start on that project until the Past Mortem is much further along.

I'd say the Past Mortem script is already about 60% finished. But it'll still be at least 2 weeks before the video will be done. Which means the Punching Weight wont be ready for at least 3 weeks. That leaves us without content for basically the whole month.

Our spotty release schedule over the last 6 months has put us in bad with the YouTube algorithm. The last two videos had bad-to-decent debuts and then very quickly petered out. We can't really afford to wait an entire month to upload the Ngage videos.

To get to the point, you told us what videos you wanted to see first, and we've started work on the Ngage stuff. However, the first video March video will actually be the #3 winner, Stylus-Only DS Games Punching Weight (to be fair, it was basically tied with Ngage Ports). We'll be able to pump out this video much quicker, and it will give us a nice PunchingWeight/PastMortem/PunchingWeight sandwich of releases.

It's clear y'all were excited about all three videos (I'm still gonna make that 64DD Camera video!!) and I'm sure you weren't going to throw a fit if we released one before the other. But I still wanted to make sure we're all on the same page. I pride myself on doing good work and being honest with our supporters. So this month it's going to be,

1) Stylus-Only DS Games | Punching Weight

2) History of Nokia NGage | Past Mortem

3) Wild World of NGage Games | Punching Weight

Hope that's cool! Either way, three really fun videos are coming your way! Let us know what you think of the plan. And thanks as always for the support!

Dude, we just want that stupid video game content we love. Keep fighting the good fight against the youtube God’s. We are all in your corner. P.s. I am SO excited for another Past Mortems. I know they take a lot of work but that’s why I love them so much.

As long as the videos are made I see no issue with the order. Thank you Uncle Derek for keeping us informed.

Eduardo Quiles

Sounds great!

Carson Morris

All good! Can't wait to see them all!

Yup, absolutely keen for whatever you've got!

YES! The Kinect video was the end of a long streak of Past Mortems and How The West Was Worse. In early 2020, we wanted to take a break from big videos. But then lockdown happened and we really struggled all year to get stuff out, that’s why it was almost all Punching Weights. The script for the Kinect follow-up is almost finished, life has just been weird this last 12 months. But I know Grace (who typically leads Past Mortem’s) is dying to get that project done and out, so it’ll definitely come out some time this year.

Same with the others here... sounds like a lot of fun content coming up and I have no problem waiting for it. Take your time!

In the mean time, everyone buy a t-shirt or two!

I'm down for all of this!

For down the line, is that Kinect Part 2 video still going to happen? Regarding support on XBO.

Gregory Walsh

I just voted simply to vote, I have no doubt that whatever video you guys put out will be anything less than informative and entertaining. Anyone who disagrees probably won't see this message..

Tony Lugo

Whoa, that's a lot of future content. Don't burn yourselves out!

Jose

No complaints from me! Do what you gotta do to stay in the algorithm's good graces, we can be patient. ♥

Sounds like a great slate of videos are coming our way soon, really looking forward to them!
