Podcast recording today at 4pm pt!!

Hello Skelefriends!

Like the title says, new podcast is gonna be recorded today. This one is about ~whatever~ so if y’all have anything y’all want us to discuss, leave a comment below! I’m thinking we’ll probably touch on the Ratatouille musical, new consoles, 12 foot tall skeletons, and whatever else slips into our brains.

See you there! If you can’t make it, the podcast will be uploaded to the Patreon (and your RSS feed) tomorrow. If you need help getting it added to your feed, lmk!

Thanks, Grace

Can you go over the mess that is region locking on systems? Like the nes is easily region free if you pull the pin from a chip, and if you alter the cartridge slot for n64 and snes/sfc you can go between us and jp, and also the confusing mess that is the genesis/ megadrive, I think that would be a fun topic

Hey Derek, it's you Derek! What do you guys think about Nintendo's strategy in launching mini versions of consoles from the past? This year we have a mini Game and Watch with Mario Bros 1 and 2 (The Lost Levels), which I honestly think fits into Punching Weight material. It's impossible to have precision and finesse using those super tiny buttons and d-pad.

I was curious to hear some discussion on the topic of remakes/remasters and how close they are to the original. With Demon's Souls out, it's 99.9% identical to the original, with some very slight quality of life changes made (like items you cannot carry going to your stash, which wasn't in the original release). Some people are happy about these changes, and some want it to be an exact mirror of the original. What're your thoughts on this? Should remakes always be as close to the original as possible, flaws included? Or should the developers be allowed to take some creative liberties and fix problems or expand on cut content from the original release?
