SSFF Patreon Podcast #15 | Sekiro'ing in the Deep
Added 2019-04-04 00:54:51 +0000 UTCHello supporters!
Well, we said we weren't going to make this an entire damn episode about Sekiro Shadows Die Twice, and despite getting some great questions, we still spent WAY too long discussing Sekiro. But we also talked about how the channel has shifted direction, which is something we've covered before but not in this much detail.
Anyway, enjoy your monthly Patreon Exclusive podcast! Just a reminder, these podcasts are recorded the first Wednesday of every month, and out $5 tier supporters get to watch and chat live during the livestream recording!
Thanks!

Cant argue with that. Its somehow finding the balance between that immense joy when you overcome something that seemed fucking impossible (Bull), then stumble down a well, beat a scary purple dude and realize you've found the connecting tissue between every area in the game AND allowing enough access into your world by players that dont enjoy dying over and over and over again right when they are picking up a new game. If this had been my first "souls" game i would have given up within the first hour. But had that gauntlet been easier and they have given me access at an earlier point that moment wouldn't have permanently etched itself into my top 10 moments with this series. I feel like one way they could have made it more accessible to new players without adding an easy mode would be to have something like the Demon Bell but for players that wanted an easier experience. Maybe a charm the sculptor could give you that allows for up to 5 resurrections in a single battle but you cant get certain endings/ items/ etc... That being said some of the end game bosses are so $%&(#$ hard that you may need 20 resurrections before it would be beatable by less skilled players. haha

Upgraded my health bar at least twice, found the other side of the evil bell. But that's still kinda the same problem these games always have, they don't REALLY start for too long. Some times I just ain't in the mood for that, and a lot of people don't have the patience or time for that.

I think if you give it a chance it will win you over. The skill involved in combat takes time but becomes immensely satisfying after you understand the importance of pary and poise. Keep with it, having played all their games this one is top 3 for me and the best connected world since DS1.

2019-04-16 23:12:13 +0000 UTCI'm at the Bull boss, about how far into the game would you say I am? Because I do kinda like it but if I'm actually pretty far along already, I don't know if this one's gonna win me over. -da
